Hello friends!
As the cold days of winter continue on, today's Scenic Saturday post over on the Bellariffic blog celebrates the beauty of this frosty season with the enchanting Oddball Winter Fairy. She is one of three seasonal fairies in the store and I'm sure that we can look forward to a summer fairy this year to complete the set.
I stamped Oddball Winter Fairy in the center of the card front and colored her in icy hues with pail silver hair. The snowballs and snowflakes that adorn her sparkle thanks to the use of a clear glitter pen once the coloring was complete. The snow covered forest background was added by hand starting with the technique of coloring the space between the trees rather than the tree trunks themselves. This creates white space in the shape of tree trunks that can then be shaded to add a bit of dimension to. The trees further in the distance are then sketched in using slightly darker shades of the background color. This provides just enough interest and contrast to really make the Oddball Winter Fairy pop. The sentiment is from the Good Vibes Sentiment set and I think it certainly captures the beauty and magic of this snowy season.
Before I go, just a reminder that there is a flash sale happening at Stamping Bella this weekend. You can enjoy 10% off the latest release, and 20% off the rest of the website (gift cards and already discounted products excluded) until midnight Sunday, January 18th (EST).
Stay crafty my friends!
