Love like gnome other...

Hello, hello!

I've had this idea to create a Valentine's Day card using the adorable Next Door Gnomes from  Hello Bluebird for awhile now and I finally made it happen yesterday. You know I'm a huge fan of the background scene stamps and this Pathway background provided the perfect home for these two smitten gnomies to live in. I borrowed the heart shaped balloon from the Elephant Friends set and placed it so it looks like our shy little suitor is holding it behind his back. The love die-cut that I used in the sentiment is from the Joy and Peace die set, sure it technically came out as part of a Christmas release but love can be shared all through the year, right? The rest of the sentiment is simply an edited version of one of the Next Door Gnome sentiments. I finished off the card by framing the entire scene using the Gallery Frame #1 die in a simple white border to help everything pop. A little birdie has told me that there are some new background stamps coming to the store later this month and I am SOOOO excited to see them! More scene building options are always a good thing if you ask me.  ;)

Alrighty then, thanks for dropping by and I will catch y'all later!

Happy Valentine's Day...

Good morning!

Here I go, inking up a few more Stacey Yacula stamps from my Purple Onion Designs stash. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job so far in keeping with my goal of creating more cards using stamps that have been sitting unloved in my collection for too long. This time I brought together the tiny little snail from the Garden Bugs set with the large Toadstool and Mushroom Trio stamps to create a sweet Valentine. I used a mirror image stamp to flip one of the snails so it looks like they are coming up either side of the toadstool to meet at the top. I added glossy accents trailing along behind them for a fun touch as well as a couple of glossy hearts floating over their heads. More mushrooms were added in the distance to help set the scene and I even used the mirror stamp with one of them to flip it for a different look. I'm so glad I finally got these all inked up because this is another one of those cards that simply makes me smile.  :)

Later gators!

More Burning Love...

Hey there!

Yesterday we introduced the new Burning Love digi collection at Sweet November Stamps. The four adorable little dragons; Doby, Zsu Zsu, Swoozie and Fennick all come in their own small bundle set each one includes the fire and/or smoke accessories and a fun Valentine themed sentiment. All of which can be mixed and matched amongst these sweeties.

My first card today is a slimline that I colored up during yesterday's Live coloring video over on Facebook. High flying Fennick got a lovely blue and green color combo and then we really went big and bold with the volcano background that was suggested. It's always a bit nerve wracking jumping into a type of scene that I've never done before and haven't planned out a bit in advance. I'm happy with it but I already learned a few things from it that I would do differently next time. The important thing is to always be brave and challenge yourself with your coloring.  :)

My second card includes all three of the digital stamps included in the Doby bundle. I colored little Doby in some sweet candy coated colors and gave him a lovely meadow and stream to reside in.

Alrighty, I've gotta run. Toodles!
