Flowers in your garden...

Olo!

This darling gal is one of the newest Gorjuss Girl stamps and her name is The Little Friend. She's another stamp that has been rather neglected considering I got her during my month of mermaids but now was the perfect time to finally get her on a card of her own. Something about her fun and funky ensemble, with the galoshes and apron, had me picturing her working out in her flower garden. But it's not just any ol' ordinary flower garden, no... Little Friend is all about being creative and eclectic. That's where this pretty paper from the Happy Glamper collection comes into play, I love how it makes it look like she has planted her flowers in old jars and re purposed light bulbs. Now I think I will enter this card into the current "anything goes" challenge over on the Sugar Nellie blog since I've missed the last couple months.

Have a good one crafty friends!

Shore do love you...

Olo!

It's day 2 of my 'month of mermaids' and I chose to print out the lovely Water Lily digi from Sugar Nellie. She's a recent purchase in preparation for this month's theme and she's currently on sale right now because before too long Water Lily will be discontinued and no longer available. Another mermaid daydreaming on a rock and once again I was inspired to color an entire scene for her. This time I went with a mid day look and gave Water Lily an inlet to call home... it looks so peaceful, don'tcha think? And I'm also entering this card into the current Anything Goes challenge at The Sugar Bowl

Alrighty, time for me to scoot. Have a wonderful weekend everybody!  :)

The flowers in your garden...

Hi there!

It looks like I can't pull myself away from the pastel color scheme because here I am again and this time a lovely little Gorjuss Girl got the treatment. What can I say... when you find yourself surrounded by pretty blossoming trees and blossoms in your day to day, I guess you can't help but be inspired. When I sat down to color and create yesterday I knew I wanted to make something for the current Sugar Bowl challenge and since it has been ages since I got a Gorjuss Girl on a card I went straight to the GG binder. I ended up choosing Rainy Daze because I really liked her fun hat and outfit. I colored Rainy to match this great floral print 'cause the black background adds a nice contrast to all the light pastels and she really pops. The rest of the design is super simple but I think it works.  :)

Ok, thanks for stopping by today!

Blooms...

Hello, hello!

It's been quite some time since I've played along in the Sugar Bowl challenge and I really wanted to do something about that. So I grabbed my Sugar Nellie stamp binder and searched for just the right image to inspire me. I finally settled on this delightful flower fairy called Live, Laugh, Love. I simply adore these stamps and am keeping my fingers crossed that we might see some new ones someday soon, it feels like its been ages since there was a Sugar Nellie release. But I digress, I ended up pairing Live, Laugh, Love with a pretty scrap of floral paper from The Girls' Paperie and pulled all of my Copic colors from it. The design is a clean and simple one with only a sprinkling of sequins for embellishment. I gotta say that this card makes me happy, everything about it says springtime sunshine to me. :)

Well, enjoy this leap day today... try to do something fun 'cause we only get this every four years. ;)

Winter be warm...

Good morning!

I've made a card for the first Sugar Bowl challenge of the new year and as always the theme is 'anything goes'. I grabbed an oldie but a goodie stamp from Sugar Nellie called Furry Friends and sadly, I couldn't even find it in the store to link up to anymore. Originally I had planned on using this sweet pair of polar pals on a Christmas card but it didn't happen. I really didn't want to wait a whole 'nother year to color them up so I decided that a birthday card was the way to go. So I paired them up with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink and some pretty paper from BoBunny... perfect for a cold January birthday.  :)

Alright, gotta run... talk at'cha later!
Supply list:

Season's greetings...

Hey there!

Well, apparently I am on a bit of a penguin kick because today I have colored up the Warm Winter Wishes digi stamp from Sugar Nellie and I am entering my card into this month's 'anything goes' Sugar Bowl Challenge. I love these lovey dovey penguins, they look so cute and cozy all wrapped up together in that scarf. Because I printed them out nice and big I didn't need much paper so I was able to use just a couple strips of scrap paper that I've been hanging on to for quite some time. The quilt like print seemed to fit the cozy feel of the card. :)

Alrighty, I'm off to work... have a great day!

Winter Wishes...

Hello again!

Today I'm sharing another card that I've made for this month's 'anything goes' Sugar Bowl challenge. This lovely Gorjuss Girl is called Toadstools and I think she is dressed perfectly for a trek through the winter wonderland I've created for her. I colored her up to match the blues and aquas in that fun snowflake paper from Hobby Lobby and I gotta say that I'm really diggin' this combo. The rest of the scene was put together using a bunch of different dies which I'm so glad that I am finally putting to more use. They are such a great tool and I have my fair share of them but it was easy to get lazy and just not pull out the Cuttlebug so I rearranged things in my crafty room a bit and now I have easy access to the die cutter which has made all the difference. And thank goodness I did because I love this card!

Ok friends, time for me to get going. I hope your week is off to a great start.  :)

Joy to you and me...

Hi guys!

I hope everyone had a fun filled Halloween weekend and are now ready to jump headfirst right into Christmas cards. I will admit that as much as I enjoy making Halloween cards it was a treat to shift in to a whole different color palette with this first Christmas card of the season. It has been at least a month since I've played along in the Sugar Bowl Challenge so I printed out this super cute digi called Gift Wrapping and I am entering my card into the current 'anything goes' challenge over there. I paired this sweet Christmas fairy with some scraps of my all time favorite Simple Stories holiday collection. The faux burlap and stitching gets me every time and I think it really suits the nature like feel of this image.  I also added a lot of sparkle and shine to the entire image but you can only really see it on the word 'joy' in the sentiment. Believe me, in person this CAS card is really quite eye catching.  :)

Ok, happy Monday to you all and I shall see you again tomorrow!

Choose joy...

Olo!

I'm running behind this morning so I've got to keep this post short and sweet. It's another day, another challenge... and I made today's card for the 'anything goes' challenge over at The Sugar Bowl. So I grabbed this gorgeous Fairy Glen digi called Dreams & Wishes and again chose a fall color combo that avoided the obvious oranges and reds. This time I mixed gold, green and brown. It's different but still pretty I think. Plus the kraft card base definitely keeps the overall design looking very natural and fall-ish.

Alrighty, gotta run. Laters!    :)

Sending you hugs...

Olo!

My card today is for this month's 'anything goes' challenge over at The Sugar Bowl. When I sat down at my desk yesterday my kitties decided to be extra helpful. Between knocking stuff off of all the shelves and wanting to stretch out right in the middle of my table you could say I was surrounded by feline inspiration. So I grabbed this super cute Basik Thinking of You stamp from Sugar Nellie, pushed Cosmo to a more convenient part of the desk, and got busy coloring. I paired this kitty up with an older paper by October Afternoon because the floral print played off that bouquet in his arms quite nicely. Of course I then pulled all my colors from the paper as well, I think it is a great color palette for this last month of summer.  :)

Well, have a good one everybody and I shall see ya again tomorrow.

Sunshine in us...

Happy Friday to you!

Who's ready for another glorious weekend? The forecast here calls for a slight cool down, only topping out in the high 70s over the next couple days. I'm ready for the break though, it will be nice being able to turn off the AC and enjoy the breeze blowing through the windows again.

Today's card is all about sunshine however, so no cool down for this Gorjuss Girl. She's called Little Ducky and I got her from Sugar Nellie years ago. I'm not 100% sure if she has made it onto a card before now but I would like to think so because she is just too darn cute in those water wings! Paper wise I paired her up with some old KI Memories favorites and a new Bella Blvd favorite, surprisingly they coordinated quite well. I am entering this card into the current 'Anything Goes' challenge over at the Sugar Bowl.

Alrighty, have a great weekend everybody!

Cherry on top...

Hey there!

A few months ago I was lucky enough to be one of the winners at the Sugar Bowl challenge and this adorable Cherry Cupcake fairy was one of the digi stamps I had to use my gift certificate on. Isn't she just the cutest?! So it is only appropriate that I'm getting her on a card to enter the current SB challenge #126. I paired Cherry up with this great paper from Simple Stories that is actually one of their SNAP Packs which I think are made more for pocket scrapbooking but I love all the little bits of paper for my card making. The colors and patterns came together to create a fun and festive summertime celebration type vibe so I also stamped 'Happy Birthday' on the inside of the card.

Ok then, thanks for stopping by. I shall see you all again manana!  :)

Follow your dreams...

Mornin' friends!

I've got another Sugar Nellie mermaid to share today and another entry into their Sugar Bowl 'anything goes' challenge. This sweet stamp is called Under the Sea and both the mermaid and her sea turtle pal come together, though I cut the rubber apart before foam mounting it so that I can stamp them separately. This is another one where I started coloring without any papers or a specific design in mind. Once I had these Under the Sea friends colored up I searched through my stash for some paper that would inspire this card to come together. When I found this ooooold Karen Foster scrap I knew I had a winner. It mimics the look of a watercolor painting of waves and since watercolor is so hot right now this makes this card look much more creative than it really is, LOL!  ;)
While fussy cutting the mermaid I chose to do a slight bit of altering on her left arm by snipping it off and re-gluing it just a smidge lower so that the angle of her invisible shoulder looked more natural to me. It's a little thing but it makes me so much happier with the end result. That seaweed down at the bottom of the card is just a single Prima flower that I cut up and I think it grounds the scene in a clever way.

Well, thank for popping by once again. Take care and I will see you manana!  :)

You're a gem...

Hi ya!

Today I'm playing along in the current 'anything goes' Sugar Bowl challenge and I have inked up the lovely Ocean's Gift stamp to do so. I have the rubber version of this image which is no longer available but the digi version can be found right here. She's definitely a bit edgier looking than most of my other mermaid stamps, what with that funky hair-do she's sportin'. So I wanted to show her softer side, thus the cool color palette of light blues, greens and purples. The papers are an old favorite of mine from the long defunct Scrapbook Wizard company. In fact I have this same bubble print in several other color ways and I am tempted to make more mermaid cards using them as well. :)

Alrighty, time for me to scoot my boot.
Talk at'cha later!

All the stars in the sky...

It's Friday, it's Friday!

I hope everyone is excited for another wonderful weekend. I'll be working the next two days but I don't mind because today should be a pretty great work day and I'm already looking forward to it.  :)

As for my card today, I've altered a Gorjuss Girl called The Fox, by wiping away the ears from her head band and cutting away the fox tail. I figured this made her a bit more universal and I could focus more on the star theme that her dress provided. As for the stars, you can see I really ran with that one, LOL! Paper, stickers, dies... heck, even the sentiment, all very matchy matchy. I used another one of the Hero Arts ombre ink pads, the blue one this time, and I can't tell you enough how much I LOVE them! So cool, so pretty, I'm going to have a hard time not collecting all of the colors. ;)
Anywho, I'm also entering this card into the current Sugar Bowl challenge so wish me luck!

Have fun and I'll see ya Monday!  :)

Be the person...

Hello friends!

I've got more puppy love to share today with my card featuring the fabulous Hugs For Fifi stamp from Sugar Nellie. I was trying to color her friend Fifi to look like Lady from Disney's 'Lady and the Tramp' but I'm not 100% satisfied with the end result. Otherwise I'm quite pleased with how this card came together. The papers are a new 6x6 pad from Simple Stories called Enchanted and I picked them because I wanted more practice coloring with my BV Copics. Any excuse to play with purple these days seems to appeal to me and I gotta say, I think I nailed that shade from the papers. ;)
I'm also entering this card into the Anything Goes challenge over at The Sugar Bowl 'cause it's always fun to play along over there.

Ok, I'm outta here. TTYL!  :)

Hello there...

Mornin' friends!

Ugh, I've been knocked down by a wicked chest cold. It started yesterday with a nasty cough that just got worse the longer the day went on. Now I'm really thankful to already have today off too so that I can hopefully get over the worst of it before starting my work week. Unfortunately this didn't bode well for my to-do list but on the bright side I had a lot of free time to color while watching old episodes of Ancient Aliens, LOL!

That is why I finally decided to tackle this beautiful image from Sugar Nellie called Golden Nectar. That large flower she's sitting in has always intimidated me just a bit. So I settled down and got over my fear, especially after I found this old rose paper from Dear Lizzy... talk about great inspiration. I love how it looks like this sweet fairy has stopped for a rest in the middle of a rose garden and she's saying, 'hello there' to that butterfly who is also passing by. Since we are allowed 3 entries into the monthly Sugar Bowl challenge I'm going to be entering this card into the draw. The 'anything goes' theme makes it really easy, all you have to do is use any one of Sugar Nellie's fabulous stamps. :)

Alrighty, I'm going to grab the Kleenex and head back to bed for a bit.
Later gators!

Tweet on you...

Hello, hello!

I'm playing along in another challenge today. It's 'anything goes' in the Sugar Bowl this month so I inked up this adorable stamp called Wonderful Day, which is part of the Scrapberry range over at Sugar Nellie. I wanted to use this pair for a fun Valentine so I did a slight bit of altering to the image on her shirt, turning it into a heart. And the paper isn't even from a Valentine collection but I thought the print matched the little hippie vibe this girlie is sportin' plus it brought in the green and blue to match her bird buddy. The sentiment is a compilation of two different stamp sets, the 'tweet' comes from a Simon Says set and 'on you' from a small set from Papertrey Ink. I think they work pretty well together if I do say so myself.  ;)

Ok, time for me to scoot.
Later gators!

Happy...

Hey there!

Yesterday's card got me thinking about challenges and how I should be looking for more of them to enter. Whether it is for a bit of added design guidance and direction or just a bonus incentive to use certain stamps I think adding a few back into my new routine will be a big help. So before I settled on a stamp for today's card I went and checked out some of my old haunts. When I saw the "Anything Goes" challenge over at the Sugar Bowl I decided to play along.

I ended up going with the super cute My Best Friend stamp from their Scrapberry's range of clear stamps. I've had her for ages and it felt so good to finally ink this little lady and her furry friend up. Surprise, surprise... another CAS design but with a larger stamp like this I really didn't want to clutter it up too much. The papers are a classic favorite of mine from Basic Grey, I still believe a girl can never have too much orange and it is especially pretty when paired up with this soft mint color.  :)

Well, I guess I should wrap this up and get myself ready for work.

Winding down

Hello and good morning my friends!
Well the big day has come and gone and I hope Santa was good to you this year. :)
I had a lovely day yesterday filled with good food and great company... it doesn't get much better than that... though I was gifted with some extra moola that's already burning a hole in my pocket. Good thing new stamps are being released later this week so I can put it to good use... ;)

Can I just say that it felt both a little weird but totally great to finally be breaking away from all the Christmas cards I've been making lately? My world has expanded to include all the wonderful colors I've been missing, so right off the bat I knew I wanted to take advantage of the Sugar Bowl challenge that includes using your favorite color along with their sketch.
I love orange. It has been my favorite color for quite a few years now. It is such a happy color don't you think? And it felt great to jump in and play with it's sunny warmth... especially since it is SO cold here! If it's possible for paper to warm you up on a cold day this new Basic Grey certainly did the trick. ;)
And I left little Goth Gorjuss Girl pretty much as is, except for drawing in some sleeves on her dress... I love this stamp. All in all just a simple little card that puts a smile on my face :)

OK, I think I've rambled on enough for today but before I go be sure to come back tomorrow as it will be the first candy up for grabs in a week of give-aways to celebrate some new releases and it's not a bad way to ring in the new year either! I promise you won't want to miss out on the fun! :)
