Feel better soon...

Hi there!

Have you seen this new Curvy Girl that was part of the Spring release at Stamping Bella? She's called Curvy Girl Get Well Soon and she sure makes feeling sick look awfully cute. She has camped out on the couch, all wrapped up in a cozy blanket while she spends the day nursing a cold. Surrounded by tissues and a warm cup of tea, Curvy is counting on bingeing her favorite shows to get through the worst of it. The sentiment also comes with Curvy, so you have everything you need to create adorable get well cards.

Feeling crumby...

Hello again!

Yesterday we added the Get Well Cookies digi collection at Sweet November Stamps so of course I had to get on the Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page for a fun coloring Live. The scene is set up using the heart beat cookie from the Get Well Cookies set 1 and the tissue box and thermometer cookies from the Get Well Cookies set 2 all resting on the baking sheet from the Christmas Cookies: Cooking Pans set. We went with a pretty in pink color scheme with hints of aqua, even hand coloring in an oven mitt in the same shades of pink. Because the coloring got done early, I was even able to finish putting together the entire card during the Live, which doesn't happen often. It was definitely another fun Saturday spent with crafty friends.  :)

Get Well Soon...

Hello there!

I'm up with my first TGF blog post of 2023. When thinking about what kind of card to create for today my inspiration actually came from how many of my friends and family have been hit by the cold or flu viruses that were making their rounds through the holiday gatherings. Let's just say that my 'get well soon' stash of cards have been depleted. I'm also still working my way through the fabulous Anya Combo kit and this Anya looked to me like she could be wearing comfy jammies, making her perfect for this theme. I did use a baby wipe to remove the ink from the flower that is originally in her hair before stamping, then simply filled in the missing black outline using a Copic black multiliner pen before coloring. Yet again I went to the digital stamps to create a background scene for our sick Anya. The big comfy bed, sleeping kitty and window are all part of the Build-a-Bedroom digi set while the chair is from the Build-a-Nursery set and the book comes with Book Ian. Once I had all of the furniture arranged in Microsoft Word, I slapped a mask on Anya and ran the card front through my printer. I still didn't have everything I wanted to really make this look like Anya has been sick so I grabbed the retired Get Well Soon clear set and stamped the tissue box and medicine bottle onto the bed with the kitty. Now I was happy with the background. All that was left to do was get out the Copic markers and start coloring. I kept the color palette soft and muted so that the scene appears as soothing and relaxing as it can be. The little kitten even inspired me to add a cute kitty print to her jammies. If you ask me, it looks like Anya is on the mend... yeah!

Hello, hello! 

I've got a very timely Scenic Saturday card to share over on the Bellarific Blog today. I really can't think of anyone who hasn't been effected by the spread of the Corona virus in one way or another. And while I hope and pray that all of you stay safe and healthy I have to admit that this whole thing has gotten me creating more 'get well' cards in my down time. So when it came time to ink up a stamp for today I grabbed Under the Weather Mochi Girl right away. Unfortunately for her it looks like she is going to have to ride out the virus but I am confident she will get better in no time. :)
I know when I am ill the only place I want to be is curled up in my bed so I chose to color in a bed around our poor Under the Weather Mochi Girl. Sure she is facing the foot of the bed with her comforter piled high around her... I like to think she was looking for her phone and just got too tired to turn back around. Another all too common detail I added are the used tissues around her, you have to think ahead a bit to create them because it requires leaving random white spaces as you color in the mattress she is resting on. Then once the mattress is done just take a couple light grey markers to add some crumpled triangle like shadow shapes to create dimension. The sentiment that I 'hung' on the wall is part of the Mochi Girls Sentiments set. Framing it is an easy way to incorporate the message right into the scene you are creating plus help draw the viewers eye to it as well.

Hello again!

My order from The Greeting Farm arrived in my mailbox the other day and I couldn't wait to play with my new stamps. Which to ink up first though? Ultimately I chose this fantastic little doctor from the Get Well Soon clear set... mostly because I had this heart beat die that I've been waiting for the right character to pair it up with and she seemed perfect. I went with a red and teal color combo and I like that it makes the card work either as a Valentine or a get well card. The design is super CAS but I didn't like any of the embellishments that I was pulling to maybe go on it so I decided to just let the stamps and dies speak for themselves. :)

Wonderful self...

Hey there! 

It was time to make a get well card and with the recent introduction of the DR and RN digis over at The Greeting Farm I had the perfect characters to choose from. I ended up choosing DR Ian and I think I was channeling McSteamy from Grey's Anatomy as I colored up this dapper doc... he's certainly got the McSteamy hair, LOL! I kept the card design super CAS and even hand cut my own heart monitor zig zaggy line for a simple background embellishment. Hopefully little McSteamy here will help put a much needed smile on a face that really needs it.  :)
