It's someone's birthday...

Happy Saturday my friends!

I've got another Scenic Saturday post over on the Bellarific Blog today and this time around I thought it would be cool to show how fun and effective creating a monochromatic grey scale background can be. I started off by stamping and coloring the beautiful new Curvy Girl Baker on Copic X-Press It card stock. I knew that I wanted to create a kitchen for her to live in but I still wanted to keep most of the focus on her, so I grabbed a ruler and a handful of my lighter W Copics, W00 up to W3. Using the W3 and the ruler I proceeded to sketch in the cupboards and stove, then I used my lighter greys to add in simple shading to give the different kitchen elements just a touch of dimension. Now you've got a fun environment for her to call home but there is no denying that this Curvy Girl is the star of the show! Just like my last Scenic Saturday card, this is another great coloring technique to baby step your way into creating backgrounds using your markers and I hope you will give it a try. :)

Stay crafty!
