TGIF everybody!
Not only is it the second day of previews for the new Hello Bluebird
release but all of the new stamps sets and dies will be available in the Hello Bluebird store tonight at 7pm MST. Today we have two new summer themed stamp sets and a cute Halloween set to share and my post will be all about those summer cuties!
This
slimline card features two of the characters from the new Come On In set that includes six sweet swimmers, two sentiments and a handful of fun accents. As I was perusing this set for the first time the idea to have that swimming bear playing shenanigans with a fake shark fin tied to the top of his head had me smiling and that is always a good sign. Instead of having the little fox run into water it completed my funny story to have him skedaddling out of it, away from the "shark" that spooked him. The sentiment was borrowed from the new Beach Play set.
Speaking of the Beach Play set, I grabbed the cute skunk in a tube floatie from it and paired her with the tube floatie bear cub and sentiment from the Come On In set for this card that I colored Live yesterday. We had a wonderful time creating this colorful ocean scene and I was able to share how I color bodies of water.
Finally, bear cub and skunk are back and taking a surf side stroll on my last card for today. They are from the Beach Play set as well as the stamp that I used to create the waters edge. Everything else in the scene is from the older Seaside Girls set. The colors in this one are a bit more soft and muted, though skunks black fur got away from me a bit, LOL! Oh well, adds to the mood I guess! ;)
Now don't forget to check out the amazing cards from my fellow team members over on the Hello Bluebird blog and sign up for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the HB store!

Oh happy day...
Hello friends!
I've got an exciting preview to share today. The highly anticipated new release from Hello Bluebird hits the store tomorrow at 7pm MST and the DT can finally start sharing some of the cards we've been creating using the new stamps! This fun slimline card features nearly every stamp from the new Garden Party set as a mix of cute little critters come together to celebrate the day with song and dance. I colored the leaves in beneath all of the cuties making music, like little stages for each of them to perch on. This left room for the dancers down on the ground below. The sentiment was borrowed from the Rainbow Script set and couldn't sum up the mood of this card any better if you ask me. :)
Be sure to dance on over to the Hello Bluebird blog to see more Garden Party inspiration as well as beautiful cards featuring the new Fairy Dance and Next Door Gnomes as well... SO much cuteness! Then join me on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page as I color another Hello Bluebird sneak peek LIVE at 11am PST this morning!

So much Sweet November goodness...
Hello friends!
The monthly newsletter for Sweet November Stamps went out last night full of new goodies that were just added to the store. First we have not one, not two but a trio of Playful Kittens that are this month's Free Digi to all newsletter subscribers. These Playful Kittens are full of pep and mischief. Use them alone, together or even paired with previously released digis to add that lovable kitten energy to any card you make.
We have also added more Halloween images to the SN Vault. The Pumpkin Fun set has gotten a digital make-over and now each of the animals are separate from the pumpkin they rest on for even more creative versatility. Luna the owl, Lucy the cat and Vlad the bat are a trio of Halloween familiars who hang out together on that spooky night critiquing all of the novice witches as they try to take their first broom flight or miss an ingredient in the spell they are casting, leading to hilarious results.
For my card today I had fun using Vlad all on his own, flipping him to hang from a cave entrance. That look on his face tells me he is plotting some serious Halloween shenanigans!
Last but not least, we have the July Mertot. This inquisitive little mermaid is just on the cusp of getting to leave the safety of the mermaid nursery where all the young mermaids spend their younger years. She can't wait to go off on adventures and finally find out more about the curious objects that sometimes float down from the surface.
Like I said... so much good stuff happening at Sweet November right now with more to come next week!

You shore are sweet...
Hello, hello!
Things are still busy, busy behind the scenes so today was a great time to share this adorable under-the-sea Merwee scene that I colored Live during their release last month. We had a fun time making her nice and bright so that she and her fishy friends would pop against the monochromatic background we created. :)
Just a quick heads up that a new Sweet November newsletter goes out tonight complete with this month's code for a free digi exclusive to newsletter subscribers. If you haven't signed up for it yet just follow the link to the Sweet November home page then scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your info to make sure you don't miss out on this month's freebie. Just a hint, all of my fellow cat lovers are in for a treat! ;)

Float On...
Good morning!
It was a busy weekend working on a bunch of cool things that are going to be coming in the very near future. I can't share them yet but I really think you're gonna love them!
In a bit of spare time between all that prep work, I colored this fun summer sailing scene using a mix of new and old Stacey Yacula stamps from Purple Onion Designs. This time around I paired the SS Minow with the Sunshine Lake Background and filled the scene with vibrant saturated colors that remind me of this time of year. Even though we are still in July and have a whole month of summer remaining I can already feel my card making starting to venture into cooler weather occasions. Which makes this card kinda feel like summer is sailing away just a bit. It's been such an odd summer, odd year really, that there is a part of me that kinda just wants to rush through and have 2020 over and done with already. So I'm going to look at this card like they are sailing into a brighter tomorrow. :)
Take care everybody! :)

Happy Birthday...
TGIF my friends!
Today I'm on the Greeting Farm blog with a card celebrating how much fun it is to mix the old with the new. It's amazing how these new digital scene builders can breathe new life into the classic character stamps already sitting in your collection. As I was playing with the 4th of July Decor set at the beginning of the month it struck me that many of the elements included in it wouldn't have to be used exclusively for patriotic themed cards. Looking at the decorative rosettes I was inspired to group a bunch of them together in various sizes to create a colorful party wall, much like you find at birthday parties as a place that is set up for picture taking. Running with that idea I knew just the Anya that I wanted posing for her birthday photo... Anya Lifts. Man, I can't tell you how much I miss these long and lanky Big Time Anyas. Their larger footprint really fills a card front nicely and gives you lots to work with in your coloring. We didn't get enough of them if you ask me, but I'm a greedy little stamper... LOL!
Anywho, I knew that Anya Lifts could hold her own even with the riot of color happening behind her on the party wall. So I stamped her onto a 4.25"x 5.5" piece of card stock and masked her off. Next I digitally put my rosettes together and printed them on plain old computer paper. Once I had that I grabbed the card stock with Anya on it, went to a well lit window and placed her over the rosettes until she was situated where I wanted her and taped the card stock to the paper before running it through my printer a second time. All I had to do after that was remove the mask protecting Anya and she was suddenly standing there ready to party! A sentiment from the retired Say B-Day set was all I needed to finish off this celebratory scene. So there ya go, a holiday digi set has been expanded beyond its original use and an older stamp got some renewed love... win/win!

The cat's out of the bag...
Hello friends!
A couple weeks ago we introduced you to the first two Cats Rule kiddos that were added to the Sweet November line up. Now we are back with a couple more cute kiddos and their beloved kitties.
First up is Alex and Oso. Oso has been watching over his boy Alex ever since Alex was a baby. And while nap time may not be Alex's favorite time of day Oso is always up for a nice curl up on a comfy bed, his purring lulling Alex into sweet dreams every single time.
Next we have Camilla and Dulce. Camilla loves her cat Dulce, even if Dulce can be a bit of a feline diva now and then. This is a cat who shows affection on her terms, only the most special people in her life are allowed to give her cuddles and pets and Camilla just happens to be on the top of that list.
Now be sure to go check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Cats Rule inspiration from Melissa, Tee and our two amazing guest designers Miria Molinari and back again, Katya Bess!
You can also find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!
I will be coloring Live on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page today at 11am PST so I hope to see you there. :)

Build-a-Bathroom is here!
Good morning!
Last night The Greeting Farm released yet another new installment in the awesome build-a-room series of digital stamp sets. This time around we got Build-a-Bathroom along with the Dress Up Bedtime set which gives us a cute Anya and Ian duo that not only work great in the bathroom but with the Build-a-Bedroom and Poolside sets as well.
For my first card I popped Dress Up Bedtime Anya into the shower with her towel wrapped around her. I had a lot of fun coloring up that pretty shower curtain and adding all the little shelves for her bath soaps and lovely smelling shampoos. The bath mat is actually borrowed from the original Porch set and the potted plant is from the Build-a-Living Room set while her slippers came from the Hello from Home set. That is the beauty of collecting these, you never know how the different accessory images will add to future sets and scenes with just a bit of creative thinking!
My second card uses the tile background from the Poolside set as a wall, a bunch of different builder elements from the Bathroom set with the addition of that Porch mat again. But rather than have it be a nice relaxing scene I created a bit of chaos by coloring in a busted faucet for Handy Ian to repair. I bet he wishes he could relax, unwind and be pampered but none of that is happening until that sink is fixed and everything is cleaned up, LOL!
Finally, while Handy Ian is busy toiling away, Dress Up Bedtime Anya and Ian have gone off to enjoy a relaxing spa day. The comfy loungers and fancy drinks come courtesy of the Poolside set and all I had to do was pop them on there in their fluffy terry cloth robes then color on rejuvenating facial masks and cool cucumbers on their eyes. They both look quite pampered don't you think?
And if all that wasn't enough, Marie has also added seven new large scripty digi sentiments as well. You can find those at the bottom of the what's new page in the store. ;)
Later gators!

You're pretty sweet...
Good morning!
My Dreamerland stamps were calling to me again and as I flipped through the binder this summer cutie munching on a slice of juicy watermelon totally caught my eye. The stamp is called I Love Every and it totally encapsulates those sweet summertime pleasures. I paired this little gal and her pup with some older Mix and Match sets, Window and Gate and Mailbox and Wall, to help set the scene of their impromptu back yard picnic. Mmmmm... I can almost taste that yummy watermelon right now. ;)
Ok, I gotta get ready for work... hope your week is off to a great start!

Howl are you...
Hello!
Are you ready for a surprise Sweet November Vault release? As we prep for Thursday's new digi release we thought it would be fun to start getting some of the older Halloween images updated and added to the store. Our first two fiendish friends come from the September 2011 release, both of which are definitely too cute to spook.
First say hello to Mumford, the mummy. This feisty former pharaoh has risen from the grave on Halloween night, not to scare but to remind us all to chillax and have fun. It never does anyone any good to be too tightly wound. Well, unless you happen to be a mummy as well, then loose bandages can be a big problem!
And we've also got Joe Joe, the werewolf. Joe Joe spends most of Halloween night howling and howling. Not at the moon as you would think, but rather due to the tummy ache he gets from eating too many sweet treats way too quickly. Joe Joe has quite the sweet tooth and when he sniffs out a stash of chocolates he just can't help himself.
Now be sure to go check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for Melissa's awesome Vault card. And Tee has also been busy adding the Boo Ghosts and last year's Witchwee release to the store as well. So beat that summer heat with some cool Halloween crafting!
You can always find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!

Sorry...
Hey there!
I'm back on the Bellarific blog today with something a little different for this week's Scenic Saturday card. By now I'm sure most of you are familiar with the colored in scenes that I create on most of my cards. I do that because I love telling stories with my stamps. Creating worlds and various scenarios for all my little stamped characters brings me so much joy. Sometimes though a stamp comes along that sparks a story which doesn't require all the bells and whistles, instead all it needs is just one or two well placed embellishments to get its message across. The Oddball Birds set was one of those sets for me and the attitude of this Oddball Bird immediately had me reaching for some darker kraft card stock to color on, all so that I could splash a bit of white mister spray on it mimicking a bit of birdie dookie beneath him. The computer generated sentiment says, 'sorry' but by the look on his face I gotta think it should be, 'sorry, not sorry' LOL! For a subtle finishing touch on this clean and simple card I also stamped the branch using kraft colored ink on my white card base so that it would line up and complete the image when the main panel was added to the card front.
Alright friends, the next time you have occasion to send an apology card I hope you think of this crazy little Oddball Bird and have some fun with it too. It is hard to stay mad when you are laughing, right?
Supply list:
cardstock- Papertrey Ink, Copic X-Press It and Hero Arts
stamps- Stamping Bella (Oddball Bird set)
ink- Memento tuxedo black and Papertrey Ink classic kraft
computer generated sentiment- My Own Topher font
My Favorite Things A2 stitched rectangle stax set 2
Studio Calico Mister Huey white
Copic markers:
branch- E25, E79, YG01, YG25, YG97, YG99
bird- Y00, Y02, Y21, Y19, Y26, E53, E55, E57, YR23, YR27, E99
eyes- BG000, C2, 0, E34

Better at the beach...
TGIF my friends!
This summer's first heat wave has settled down upon us and I won't lie, I am not a fan. I don't enjoy stepping outside and immediately feeling all sticky and sweaty. I find myself longing for a beach get-away with crystal clear waters to keep cool in. I think that's why I found myself drawn to this quirky flamingo from the Hello Bluebird Silly Birds set. I played around with a bit of a different design, lightly sketching in a rectangle to contain my beach scene then stamping flowers and foliage from a few different sets into the corners so that they look like they are bursting out of the scene and into the clean white card front. Originally this flamingo has a bit of a wide eyed look going on but I wanted him to be a bit more chill so I just colored in a hooded lid to really get him vibin'. A few sparkly sequins were added for some extra color and this summer time card was done. :)
Stay cool every body!
Supply list:
cardstock- My Favorite Things and Copic X-Press It
stamps- Hello Bluebird (Silly Birds, Portrait Pals, Jungle Littles and Beach Babes)
ink- Memento tuxedo black and london fog

Girls just wanna have fun...
Hi friends!
Today I've got something kinda different to share. After a week of coloring cute, simpler images I was itchin' to shake things up and go with a more realistic looking image that would really stretch and challenge me. This sassy gal totally fit the bill but surprise, surprise... she isn't from a traditional digi shop. Not only do I enjoy following fellow paper crafters on Instagram but I also follow quite a few artists that I admire as well. So when Ana Marija (madebyinkyjar) shared this coloring page on Patreon I couldn't wait to print her off and start coloring. I was getting a strong SoCal kind of vibe from this stylin' cutie so I Googled 'L.A. sunset' to find inspiration for the background. This beach boardwalk scene was the perfect home for my high ponytailed, pretty in pink, girlie girl because I can just imagine her waiting for the sun to go down after a day at the beach only to find some entertaining and hip night spot to party at long into the night. If you can't tell I really got lost in the storytelling with this one... probably because I would love to break up the monotony of these semi-quarantine days with some fun of my own, LOL! Ah well, a girl can always live vicariously through her cards, right? ;)
Later gators!
