Hello there!
Considering I shared my Uptown Girl Snow White card this past Saturday I figured it was time to get Uptown Girl Rapunzel and Uptown Girl Cinderella shared here on the blog as well. If you can't tell, these gorgeous Uptown Princesses have all really sparked my imagination and pushed me to create the perfect fairy tale background scene to help tell each one's story.
For my Rapunzel card, I wanted to capture her right at the moment she has finally escaped the tower and she's about to embark on her journey to find the lanterns. To help me, I Googled pictures of the tower that I could use as inspiration when free hand coloring the hidden valley where the tower resides. Capturing the shadows on the mountain side was one of the most involved coloring challenges that I've ever pushed myself to create and I'm so glad that I did because I love this card!
Cinderella simply had to be caught running down the castle staircase as the clock chimes midnight. Again, a quick Google search provided me with the perfect staircase inspiration and with all that stone I opted for a monochromatic background using the warm grey Copic color family. Of course it wouldn't be true to the story without the her glass slipper being left behind as she makes her hasty retreat.
I hope your day is its own fairy tale my friends!
