Bella preview day 3!

Hello again!

We've finally made it to the last day of holiday release previews at Stamping Bella and there is still so much cuteness to be seen! More Uptown Girls, more Bundle Girls and... sloths. Yes, I said sloths and oh my are they just the cutest things, LOL! I created this tree trimming scene combining the new Uptown Girls Ophelia and Odelia with the older Uptown Christmas Tree set. As you can see, it's like they were made to go together. These two festive beauties have hung the lights and now it is time to pick the perfect baubles to decorate that tree with. The sentiment is from one of last year's holiday offerings, Holiday Fun Sentiment set

Once again, there are many more stamps being previewed today over on the Bellarific Blog and the entire team is really rocking it. So go check it out and get yourself entered for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate before the new release hits the Stamping Bella store tomorrow! :)

I'm so glad...

Hey there!

I've got one more Hello Bluebird card to share before we officially welcome October with all its spooky goodness tomorrow. That darling little mole from the Leaf Play set has been on my list to ink up for ages. Seriously, I've had the set for over a year and every time I flipped past it in my stamp binder I would pause to ooh and aww over his cuteness. I think some of it has got to be those round rimmed glasses he is sporting, LOL! Anyway... I finally made time to get him on a card and with the way he is posed I thought it would be funny to do a little selective inking and masking to make it look like he has been hiding in that big pile of leaves. Then, when his bunny pal comes hopping by Mr. Mole pops out, making Bun Bun leap high into the air in surprise! The sentiment is from the Pumpkin Time set and I think it works just as well with these two because October is the perfect month for playing in the leaves if you ask me. ;)

The hocus to my pocus...

Olo!

The Sweet November Stamps September newsletter just went out to our subscribers recapping all of the new additions to the shop this month. The big news is all about the two clear stamp sets that just released for the Autumn season, Falling Into Fairwees and A Little Hello-ween. With Falling Into Fairwees you will find four fun loving fairies busily helping the trees change their colors for the new, cooler season. And in A Little Hello-ween four tiny witches are each celebrating the spookiest night of the year in their own way.

For this month's newsletter subscriber freebie we've added one more Witchwee for all our digi lovers out there. Please say hello to Sybil and her feathered friend, Poe! These two spooktacular friends know that the best way to drum up some Halloween magic is by dancing out under a Harvest moon. The more you shake those tail feathers, the more powerful the magic, LOL! If you missed out on subscribing to this month's newsletter, no worries, these two can be purchased in the store as well.

Also, this coming Saturday is World Card Making Day and we plan on celebrating this amazing hobby we all love in the Friends of Sweet November Facebook group with Live videos from both Melissa and myself as well as a chance to get another exclusive free digi. So I hope to see you there!

Bella preview day 2...

Hello again!

It's day two of holiday release previews at Stamping Bella and don't you think for a second that there wouldn't be any new fall and Halloween images in the mix! On the contrary, this Mochi Bride of Frankenstein is just waiting to haunt as many cards as she can. I gotta tell you, I had a blast coloring her up with a rather sickly looking pallor. But even though she has seen healthier days Bride isn't letting a few stitches keep her from looking quite glam.

There are so many more stamps being previewed today over on the Bellarific Blog and the entire team has really outdone themselves. So go check it out and get yourself entered for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate before the new release hits the Stamping Bella store on Thursday, the 1st. :)

Stamping Bella previews begin!

Good morning!

It's been a while since we've had any new Bella images to add to our crafty wish lists, but the wait is now over and the always highly anticipated holiday release at Stamping Bella starts previewing today! Over the next three days the entire Bellarific team and I will be sharing cards featuring the super cute new cast of characters as well as all the fab new sentiment sets too. The stamps will be available for purchase in the Stamping Bella store on Thursday, the 1st. Today's preview is all about the quirky cute Oddballs and I have two cards to share.

My first card today features Christmas Tree Oddball who does not look at all thrilled to be dressed up for this year's ugly Christmas sweater party. Though I gotta say, I think she could easily take home the top prize with those gift box shoes alone, LOL! I paired her with this hilarious sentiment that is part of the Festive Oddballs sentiment set. To reinforce the message I decided to leave a big, blank wall behind this oh-so-festive Oddball so that she would really stand out as the only decoration.  :)

For my second card I've colored up the beautiful Oddball Snow Queen. From the look on her face, ruling over snow and ice isn't all it's cracked up to be. But hey, at least she knows how to rock that amazing floor length coat, LOL! The sentiment comes with her and I love that it opens her up to more than just Christmas cards.

Alrighty, be sure to hop on over to the Bellarific Blog to see all of the amazing inspiration from my fellow Bellas and get yourself entered for a chance to win a gift certificate because I promise you are going to want it for this release!

Nuts about you...

Happy Saturday friends!

I'm up on the Hello Bluebird blog today with my first official blog post! New stamps are always exciting to add to our crafty stash. They bring with them new card ideas and fun new images to color. But I gotta say, the thing that gets me most excited whenever there is a new release is how I can 'mash up' my new stamps with older sets and breathe new life into those images. For my card today I really wanted to pair one of the darling fairies from the new Fairy Dance set with a happy squirrel from the older Oh Nuts set. This seated fairy was perfect because I knew she would look great resting on the branch watching her squirrel friend do a bit of a tight rope walk out there on the end of the limb.

So I stamped them both first and masked them off before stamping the branch right over top. I also loaded up the branch with a bunch of acorns because I knew I wanted to use the Nuts About You sentiment from another classic Hello Bluebird set, Deer Friend. I placed all of that fairly high on my card front to help create the illusion that we are glimpsing them from up in a tree top. Then I stamped the ever versatile hillside from Storybook Friends in a lighter grey ink down towards the bottom of the card to help reinforce that perspective I was after. Once I pulled the masks away from the characters I was ready to color. Pretty fall hues of orange, brown and yellow accented with dusty blues and purples really captured the look of a lovely autumn afternoon. To finish off the card I framed the scene using the pinked edge of the Gallery Frame #3 die. I'm not sure why but pinked edges always remind me of fall as well so it seemed quite appropriate.

Alrighty then, enjoy the rest of your weekend and stay crafty my friends!

Pumpkin kisses...

Hello, hello!

I'm on the Bellarific Blog today with a new Scenic Saturday card to share. With October fast approaching it is time to start decorating for the season here at my house. A cornerstone of that seasonal decorating has always been the good ol' pumpkin. Big ones, small ones, orange ones, white ones, it just isn't Fall around here until there are some pumpkins on the porch. And I knew I had the perfect Bella stamp to capture this special time of year... Bundle Girl at the Pumpkin Patch has made the trip to her local farm and found the biggest and best pumpkin that she can carry. This little cutie seems bound and determined to get that perfect pumpkin back to her home so she can carve it up into a spooktacular jack o'lantern.

Whenever I have a stamped image like this that is very obviously in motion, I like to stamp them closely to the edge of the card opposite the direction they are facing. By doing this, it creates plenty of space on the card for them to 'move into'. That empty space then becomes the perfect place for a bit of scene building to help tell the story and more importantly, the sentiment. If I were to stamp her in the center of the card or even closer to the right edge, the momentum her 'walking' eludes to would lead the viewers eye right off the edge of the card. So by placing her on the left, I can take advantage of that momentum and make it work in my favor design wise. Now the viewers eye is lead right to the Fall Sentiment, creating a more cohesive design. It's a small thing to think about when stamping that can make a big impact on your cards. :)

Stay crafty my friends!

We go together like hocus and pocus...

TGIF!

I'm up on the TGF blog today and I really wanted to play with the Halloween Nite digi set again, this time taking some of the elements and combing them with the Porch and Porch 2 digi sets to create a front stoop all decked out for Halloween. Once again the larger slimline card size gave me enough room to tell the story that I envisioned without having to sacrifice any of the builder elements that I wanted to include. This time around the bats and ghosts become silly window clings creating an inviting environment for our little trick or treater... Hallo Bean. She's an oldie but a goodie and still one of my all time favorite TGF Halloween images. I paired her with a new favorite... the meowing kitty from the Build-a-Laundry set and together they are both ready and waiting for some candy!

Alrighty, here's hoping your weekend is full of more treats than tricks!

Don't be a scaredy cat...

Hello!

I'm back with my second guest designer post for Whimsy Stamps. I mentioned last week that I couldn't wait to dive into a Halloween card so of course I went all out in the spooky cute department for my card today. This frightfully fun scene actually combines three newly released stamps from
Whimsy, Haunted Parlor, Spooky Kitties and Fuzzy Spiders. Black cats and Halloween just go hand in hand, or should I say hand in paw? LOL, anywho... so I stamped and masked this Spooky Kitty with the broom then stamped the Haunted Parlor right over top. Once the mask was pulled off it now looked like kitty was caught standing there red handed as he 'borrows' the witch's broom for a midnight ride all on his own. The parlor itself was decked out in traditional Halloween colors and the spider webs were added at the very end of the creative process to help push kitty back into the scene a bit more. That and the addition of a sentiment really helped pull this fun story all together. :)

Once again I would like to thank Whimsy Stamps for inviting me to join the fun this month and I can't wait to see what you have planned for Christmas!

Happy Halloween...

Hey friends!

There is a special super mini release at Purple Onion Designs today with the new Pumpkin Charm stamp by Stacey Yacula. This completely adorable Halloween stamp shows a bunny and mouse working together to carve out a giant pumpkin in time for the holiday. Not only that but for a limited time POD is also running a FREE SHIPPING discount on all domestic orders over $75 (no code needed) and $7 off international orders over $75, making this the perfect time to fill up a cart with fun new stamps for this holiday card making season.

I wanted my pumpkin carving party to take place out in the woods so I paired them up with the older Birch Tree Background stamp and a few freehand tree silhouettes even further in the background. The colors in that sky are a bit more pastel than you see on most Halloween cards so I made sure to add a bit of traditional orange and black in the scarves the critters are wearing. The sentiment is from the Essential Happy Sentiment set and it is the perfect straight forward greeting that I needed to bring this darling card together. :)

Toodles!

Autumn blessings...

Hello friends!

My Dreamerland stamps were calling to me yesterday and this pretty gal in particular was really wanting to get inky. She is called Thinking of You and I can't get over how lovely she is. With the wind so obviously blowing through her hair I knew she would look great in a fall scene with leaves blowing in that same breeze. So I paired Thinking with the much used Mix and Match Mailbox and Wall set as well as the Mix and Match Window and Gate set. The birch trees from the Mix and Match Trees and Leaves 01 set were then stamped in a lighter grey ink behind her so they would appear further off in the distance. Once all of that was mapped out it was a fairly quick and easy coloring session to create this lovely autumn day and I'm so happy with it!

Ok, I've gotta head into town today so time for me to get ready. Have a good one!

Autumn Greetings...

 Good morning!

I received my order from the Purple Onion Designs anniversary sale last week and it was full of fall and Halloween cuteness that I've been quite eager to get my hands on. And I know I've told y'all about my fondness for adorable scarecrows and their black bird friends so it shouldn't come as a surprise to see that the first stamps to get inked are just that, LOL! I mean come on... aren't they a completely darling pair? For the background I grabbed another new stamp, the 2 Cornfields and stamped the larger field twice after masking off Mr. Scarecrow. Having those detailed stalks in the front allowed me to quickly fill in the space behind them with a bunch of vertical stripes in various brown and golden hues to effectively elude to the rows of drying corn stalks behind them. It's a simple scene but to me it really captures that feeling of fall. :)

 TTYL!

Happy Howl-oween...

Hello again!

Yesterday Sweet November Stamps added two new clear sets to the shop, Falling Into Fairwees and A Little Hello-ween. We celebrated with a day full of Live coloring videos and these are the two resulting cards that I made with the suggestions and feedback of all the crafty gals who came to hang out with me.

This sweet Fairwee from the new Falling Into Fairwees set is balancing high on a bare branch overlooking the colorful autumn forest below. A crisp evening breeze has kicked up and is swirling playfully around her. The little inch worm included in the set is looking on as the leaves dance in the air.

In the afternoon we colored this cute Witchwee with her wee werewolf pal from the A Little Hello-ween set. I paired them with the Tree Silhouette background stamp from Whimsy to quickly add in a whole forest of bare trees behind them. This made for a super quick card that  still tells a sweet Halloween story.

We also had a couple chances to win the new stamp sets and the winners will be announced in the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook later this morning. Also, digi loving fans of the Witchwees need to be sure they are signed up to get the Sweet November monthly newsletter because there is going to be a little magic in there this month... hint, hint.  Not a subscriber yet? New clear stamps from Sweet November!

Hello friends!

Here we are with our second release of two clear sets at Sweet November Stamps! Once again, I don't want our digi fans to fret. Digital images aren't going anywhere as clear stamps will only be added to the line up sporadically. Because of the pressing process used to create stamps they do better with simpler images and line work, leaving us with plenty of the more detailed characters to enjoy as digital images that we can manipulate, play with sizing and all of that good stuff. Still, sometimes you just want that satisfaction of physically pressing ink to paper and that is where these little cuties come in.

First up, the Fairwees are fluttering back on the scene in the new Falling Into Fairwees set. As the seasons begin to shift from the heat and hustle of summer to the slow cool down of autumn we have the tiny little Fairwees to thank for painting the leaves in their glorious new colors and helping them to fall, gently blanketing the ground below. This set includes four fall Fairwees, a ladybug, inchworm and bare branch for additional scene building possibilities.

Next, the Witchwees are making a comeback just in time to help us celebrate their favorite holiday... Halloween! The A Little Hello-ween set includes four fabulous Witchwees, a sentiment, owl and bat friends for good measure. The Witchwees may be small in stature but they add big time magic and whimsy on every Halloween card they call home.

Digi loving fans of the Witchwees I promise I didn't forget about you! Just be sure you are signed up to get the Sweet November monthly newsletter because there is going to be a little magic in there this month... hint, hint.  Not a subscriber yet? No worries, go to the bottom of the Sweet November Stamps home page and sign up now. :)

Now be sure to go check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more Fairwee and Witchwee inspiration from Melissa, Tee and our very special guest designer... Faye Wynn Jones!
You can also find us on Instagram @sweetnovemberstamps and don't forget to use the #sweetnovemberstamps any time you share a card or project using SN images so we can see all of your beautiful makes!
