I've got another weekend post over on the Hello Bluebird blog today and this time around I went to my older fall themed sets to find something fun to create with. The Fall Friends set, with its sweet clothed critters caught my eye right away. I'm such a sucker for animals dressed up in clothes, they always make me smile. And these three cuties are just as darling as they come. I stamped and masked them into a tight knit group of friends posing for a photo together on a beautiful, blustery fall day. As I was coloring them up I took advantage of the open space of their skirts and dresses and used my markers to add simple floral and stripe prints to the clothing. I love how adding prints quickly individualizes each of their looks. I further customized the deer by taking the round rimmed glasses from the Autumn Gatherings set and stamping them right over her face. The extra little acorns and flower down at their feet are part of the Deer Friend set. I also used the wide Gallery Frame #1 die to cut a frame out of a natural off-white card stock that has soft fibers showing. I like that it mimics the appearance of wool felt and the sweaters and scarves that these three besties are wearing.
