Witchwee Night Riders!

 

Hello friends!

We're back with another new Halloween themed digital stamp release at Sweet November Stamps today! Because we didn't have a cute Witchwee clear set this year, they are instead making an appearance in this fun Witchwee Night Riders digi collection. There are four high flying Witchwees racing through the sky on their magical brooms and each one is joined by a friendly familiar. In the shop you will find; Edith and Tumble, Philomena and Crash, Eunice and Skid and Tallulah and Dash.

For my first card I've paired Philomena and Crash with the Autumn Cottages Background Builder clear set to capture this excitable little witch as she speeds over the sleepy village at midnight. As she swoops and swirls it's all poor little Crash can do to not fall off his perch on the broom! The medium sized moon mask from Tim Holtz provides the spotlight shining down over the entire scene.

Next, Tallulah and Dash are out for a much safer midnight ride. Dash is such a good boy as he enjoys the wind blowing under his big floppy ears and who says that little pups can't be a witch's best friend? The Spookville Horizon Lines set the scene down below and again that medium sized moon mask is shining in the sky.

Finally, Eunice and Skid are racing along and as you can see, poor Skid is a bit of a scaredy cat. Imagine that, a witch's familiar that is afraid of heights! This time around I went with the largest moon mask and added some bats from the Spooky Tree Background Builder set. Black Cat Society...

 

TGIF my friends! 

I'm finally ready to get back to some Halloween fun here on the ol' blog so how about a double dose of Black Cat Society gorgeousness? These fabulous felines are some of my faves from the newest clear release at Sweet November Stamps and there are three black cat beauties to choose from in this set. 

This long haired black cat girlie was colored during my first Live of the release weekend so you can still check out the replay if you are interested in watching this spooky slimline scene come together. I paired her with an old spooky tree background stamp from Whimsy and the medium sized moon mask from Tim Holtz, which really sped up the whole scene building process. The classic orange, purple and green combo is so Halloween and looks purrrr-fect with her, if you ask me.  ;)

My next card is another mini slimline and we have left the countryside for a big city Halloween night. This hip and happening girlie is hanging out on a high rise rooftop, where she has the best view of the full moon rising beyond the skyscrapers. This time I used the largest moon mask along with a city skyline stencil that I traced using a black mulitliner and colored in with some grey Copics. Again, pretty quick scene building and it tells a whole different story. I can just imagine her getting up and doing the stray cat strut right along the edge of that building before disappearing into the night, LOL!

Have a magical birthday...

Hey, hey!

I've been really busy this week drawing up new stamp designs for future Sweet November releases so once again I checked my hard drive to see what I still had there to share. This mini slimline was actually shared on the SN instagram account during the summer clear release hop but it hasn't been posted here yet. It's a fun birthday card using the three cute fairwees holding candles from the Fairwee Happy Birthday set. I also colored this for the SN YouTube hop during that release so if you would like to watch how I created that candle glow around them, you can check it out here.

Happy September Birthday...

Hello there!

Here we are smack dab in the middle of the first week of September so I figured it would be a perfect day to share this card featuring the new September Morning Glory Fairy from Sweet November Stamps. This shy little cutie may have been easily overshadowed by all of the Halloween fun of the last clear release but now it is her month to be in the spotlight. After poppies, morning glories are a favorite flower of mine, especially the classic heavenly blue variety, which is where I pulled my coloring inspiration from. The simple scene behind her was colored in by hand and I was trying to make it look like she is standing at the bottom of a post that the morning glory vine is growing around. When it came time to add some embellishments to the card, I didn't have any blue gems in the right shade of blue so I grabbed some clear ones instead and used a Copic marker to color a few to match. :)

Another year...

 

Hey there!

The anniversary sale is still going strong at Purple Onion Designs, where most everything in the store is 25% OFF through September 9th. For my card today I've used a mix of old and new images by Stacey Yacula to create a cute back to school scene. Adorable Pistachio is actually a hiker from the newest Amongst the Pines collection but with his backpack I could totally see him walking to his first day of school. The big tree is also from the newest release but I did some altering by not inking up the little tire swinging mouse that is originally on it. For the background I stamped the older Stone Wall and Church images. Again I did a bit of altering by wiping the ink away from the stained glass window at the front of the church so that I could color it as a little red school house instead. The sentiment is from The Great Outdoors Sentiment set and by using red ink on it, I created a nice visual triangle between the school, the backpack and the sentiment that is visually appealing. :)

Good morning!

Here's another card that I colored during the Sweet November Stamps summer clear release Lives a few months back that I'm just now getting around to sharing. At least this one makes for a nice segue into this early Fall season. We ended up going all out in creating a fantastical fairytale scene for this adorable Extraordinarily Happy dragon. I had already surrounded her with little flying birds from the Bountiful Blessings: Thanks a Bunch set because the plan was to color the dragon onto a tree branch. The little castle from the Seaside Cliffs Background Builder set was added during the Live after a suggestion was offered to add one and this saved me the time it would take to free hand one into the background. This scene ended up being quite the labor of love as we kept adding features, like the waterfall, into the mix. In the end the extra time we took was so totally worth it.  ;)

Life is sweeter...

Olo!

This darling girl from the Bountiful Blessings: Berry Sweet Day set is busy harvesting the last berries of summer with the help of her cute little kitten that is from the Bountiful Blessings: Squeeze the Day set. I actually colored this scene a couple months ago and it is one of the last summer cards that I still have left to share here before moving full time into fall and Halloween card making. The berry bushes and tree were colored in by hand for a fairly quick and simple background and of course I couldn't resist staining her apron with some berry juice once again, LOL!  :)
