The new Christmas Bears collection by Kris Lauren released at Colorado Craft Company this past weekend. And while I was too busy to participate in all of the release fun, I did want to pop in and post a reminder that today, November 8th, is the last day to take advantage of Free Shipping. No promo code is needed, as the site will automatically apply free shipping on all US orders and International orders will get a $6.95 discount, making their shipping cost $10.00. For my card I did some mixing and matching of stamps between three of the new sets; Knitting Bear, Stockings Mini and Presents Bear, as well as some selective inking on the polar bear. The original image has her knitting a scarf directly onto a penguin pal but I wanted to play up the whole "stockings were hung" line in the quote so I carefully wiped the ink away from the scarf using a baby wipe and stamped in one of the stockings in its place. More stockings were added to the fire place mantle through a bit of masking until I finally had the scene I was after. I gotta say, this sweet polar bear looks quite proud of all her knit stockings and I bet Santa fills them well on Christmas Eve. ;)
