Ghostly greetings

Good morning!

Today I made a card for the "mostly black & white" challenge over at Kraftin' Kimmie. When I saw what the challenge was, right away my mind went to the Horace and Hattie ghosts... talk about the perfect stamps for this color scheme! When I stamped them up I wanted them to overlap a bit and decided not to mask off so that the parts of them that did overlap would hopefully read as being transparent when I colored them. Oh, and I also altered both of them just a bit by wiping away the bags underneath their eyes before stamping... I just liked them to be a bit more fresh faced looking even if they are a couple of spooks from beyond the grave. ;)
Even though the challenge could have one color besides the black & white, for the most part I stuck with different shades of greys for the entire scene. The warm greys were used on Horace and Hattie themselves and then the cool greys for contrast in the background. I think as a whole this monochromatic look makes for a fun and a bit different kind of Halloween card.

Alrighty, time for me to get ready for work. See y'all tomorrow. :)

Hi Amy. This is super cool looking. I love it! They are just the perfect Halloween pair! Love the flowers and the lace. The print paper being almost makes it look like newspaper from when they died..heehee! I have been sick with a cold all week and still working. Me thinks that the cold medicine is making me looney. Have a great evening. Hugs, Lisa

Wonderfully done Amy! I bought the set with Horace and Hattie but never inked them up yet. Hopefully I'll get a chance now that you've inspired me! :) Have a great weekend!

They definitely look transparent, you did a great job with that! I love this card. Your black and white coloring is amazing. That is one technique that I really want to be able to achieve, as well as a monochromatic sepia color scheme. I just need to practice, practice, practice!
