It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Olo!

Well, I'm feeling a bit better today though me and the Kleenex box are still best friends. I'm thinkin' it might be a perfect day to curl up on the couch with my two furry friends and watch some of my annual Christmas movie favorites. Top of the list today? Probably Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, and Elf.  :)

I recently got the new Winter Wonderland digis from Sugar Nellie and couldn't wait to color them up. First one to get on a card was this sweet On the Wings of Love image. Isn't she just totes adorbs? Totes mcgoats, she's cray cray adorbs! LOL, if you haven't seen the Sprint commercials featuring James Earl Jones and Malcolm McDowell you might not get that last reference... I swear those commercials crack me up every time I see one.
Anywho, back to the card... I was actually planning on checking out this week's Flutter By challenge to see if I could play along but Danni just posted the sad news about shutting down the challenge. And while I will miss the fantastic challenge that she has lead for all these years I know that Danni will still be a big presence in our crafty bloggin' circle. Thanks for all the fun Danni!  :)

Thanks for stopping by and I'll catch ya on the flip side!

Joy & Wonder...

Hello, hello!

I'm excited to have a card for the Flutter By challenge today. Once I start making Christmas cards there aren't as many opportunities to have a fairy or butterfly on them but I recently found this cute digi stamp from Sugar Nellie so I decided to play along. She is called Elf Made Magic and I think she is too cute for words. While I wish she was an actual rubber stamp I will admit that it was nice to not wait a couple weeks to have her arrive in the mail. :)

This week's challenge is to use the color brown on your card so I searched out the MME Lost & Found paper pad from last year because I love the color combo in it which includes a very dark brown. Of course I colored her up to match and even added a touch of gold to the mix for good measure. I also stamped in a little village scene to help ground her in the foreground. Perfect Pearls substituted for a gentle snowfall and I finished off the card design with some strips of paper that I trimmed into pennants and an old epoxy brad from my stash.

Well I guess I should go do the hair and makeup thing before heading off to work.

Hello friend...

Hey there!

Last week I stopped by the Sugar Nellie blog for the first time in quite a while and was shocked to see that I had missed a Fairy Glen release back in June. How could I let that happen?! Well I had to remedy this oversight by placing a little order and I was so excited when the stamps arrived on Saturday.
Of course I had to color one up right away and this sweet scene called, The Story Teller, was calling to me. Probably because I've been seeing a lot of little mushrooms popping up in the field behind the house when I take my pup for his walks. It's a sure sign of fall when the mushroom rings make an appearance. And lucky for me the Flutter By challenge this week is Autumn colors so this card is a perfect fit. :)

Okey dokey, time for me to scoot... I've got a haircut appointment before work this morning so I've gotta get a move on!

Hello there...

Good morning!

I managed to get my desk cleared off and pretty well organized but the rest of the room will have to wait. I need to come up with a better storage solution for all of the little 6x6 paper pads that I've collected as they seem to multiply like Tribbles. LOL! ;)

But once my desk was in order I was able to settle in and make a fun card for this week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge. It's an open challenge for this very special birthday week which you can read all about on the FBW blog. I chose to ink up Jasmine who is one of the Fairy Glen fairies from Sugar Nellie. So that's another stamp I get to cross off my list of rubber waiting to see ink. Happy dance, happy dance!
I was even feeling ambitious and cut a bunch of scraps into 1"x1" squares and pieced together the background to shake things up a bit. It doesn't look too bad if I do say so myself. :)

Alrighty then, time to get ready for another work week.

Thanks a bunch...

Hola amigas!

Well, the movie was beyond excellent... I laughed, I cried, I was awestruck, I could have watched it again. LOL! We had such a good time in town that time got away from me a bit which is why I didn't have anything to share yesterday. But I am back to work and back on track so hopefully it will be a while before I'm absent here again.

I was cleaning up my desk a bit yesterday and came across this SOG Blossom Fairy digi that I'd printed out ages ago and I really wanted to color her up. She ended up being one of the rare times that I color an image before picking out papers to guide me on a color scheme. But I really just wanted to play around with some purple/pink hair and this is the result, I gotta say that I'm very happy with how Blossom turned out. And because I had a fairy to get on a card I decided to play along in this week's Flutter By challenge which is a great sketch and helped to bring this card together. I could have spent hours searching for the perfect paper to use but because the sketch had that single strip I just grabbed my bag of green scraps and used the first piece that I pulled. Totally sped up the whole creative process and I think it actually works pretty nicely with the coloring.  :)

Alrighty then, I should get a move on with my day.
Adios!

A fairy happy hello...

Hello, hello!

Thanks for all the congrats on my new car. It's funny, this is my very first brand new vehicle and like Lisa mentioned in the comments yesterday, I do find myself coming up with all sorts of reasons to drive it around, LOL! And if I can't find any nice orange seat covers like Leanne suggested I'm sure I'll find something orange and happy to dangle from the rear view mirror. ;)

As for my card today, I had just received a couple of the new Tiddly Inks fairy stamps that I ordered and couldn't wait to ink one up. I chose Sunny Day this time and paired her up with some more great cloud paper, this one from Carta Bella. Needing some inspiration to put the card all together I headed on over to the Flutter By Challenge to see if I could play along. This week it is a recipe challenge to use flowers, at least one butterfly and a punch/die. I kind of ended up taking the challenge a step further by using a bunch of different dies to get the flowers and butterflies that I needed. I have collected so many great dies that it always feels good putting them to use... which I really should do more often. All in all, I really think this card came together quite nicely and I am very happy with it. :)

Well, I can't believe we are at another Friday already. At least this weekend should be a bit less crazy and we have some lovely sunshine once again in the forecast. Hopefully y'all are getting some sunshine too!

Later gators!

Heartfelt wishes...

Hello, hello!

So far the long weekend is proving to be very busy but full of a lot of good times too. The weather isn't completely cooperating but as long as the torrential downpours keep clear, it's all good. :)

I made the card I'm sharing today to play along with this week's Flutter By Challenge which is a sketch. I'm continuing on my lazy streak of just grabbing random pre-stamped images off my desk and making them work. This time it is a Pergamano fairy, whom I'm pretty sure has made it onto a card before, but I still had just as much fun coloring her up this time around. The papers are all from the Basic Grey Mint Julep 6x6 paper pad which, when combined with the great sketch inspiration, made this card come together in just over an hour. Not too shabby if you ask me. ;)

Alrighty friends, time for me to rock and roll. Hope you are having a fabulous holiday too!

I hope you know...

Hey there!

It's promising to be a beautiful Saturday here in my neck of the woods. I'll be working most of the day but afterwards I plan on taking advantage of the sunshine and go find something fun to do. I'm not sure what kind of trouble I'll find to get into but I need to blow off a little steam. :)

So I've made a card to play along with this week's Flutter By challenge. It's a sketch and it was just what I needed to pull this one together. I had already grabbed this pre-stamped Pergamano Fairy off my desk and cut the circle around her, so I figured it was totally meant to be when I saw that the sketch had a circle front and center, LOL!
I can't recall whether I've stamped this cute fairy up before but I totally adore her. There is something about the look on her face that reminds me of the little girl who plays Arya in the Game of Thrones series... I think it must be those sad eyes.

Speaking of GOT, I'm just now getting around to watching the second season on DVD and while they are doing a decent job of sticking fairly close to the books I can't believe they cut out Jojen and Meera Reed! Where are they?! Man, I wish I got HBO since I know that season three has begun but I'll have to wait a year for it to hit DVD. In the meantime I need to restart reading A Dance with Dragons, I had made it only about a fourth of the way through before everything happened with my mom last year and it just kind of got laid aside. Which isn't all bad considering there is still quite the wait before book six is even set for release. So I want to refresh my memory with what all was going on instead of trying to start where I left off. I suppose if I don't find anything exciting to do tonight I may just make a date with my book. ;)

Wow, that was quite the GOT fan girl tangent to go off on but I make no apologies, LOL!
Toodles!

Sunshine and smiles...

Good morning!

I'm not going to lie, it feels real good to have a day off today. Sure, I've got a lot to get done around the house but I'm tackling it at my own pace, no rushing no stress. :)

So I've made a card to play along in this week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge which is to use a sentiment stamp on the front of your card. This was pretty easy for me considering 99% percent of the cards I make have some kind of sentiment front and center. And apparently I can't get enough of the Pebbles Family Ties papers because I've used them once again this week. This time though, I've paired them up with a darling pixie from the now retired Pixie set from Stamping Bella. I can't get enough of Christy's pixies so luckily there are digital versions available at Tiddly Inks. ;)

I'll talk at'cha all later. Hope your Sunday is full of crafty fun!

Just saying hello...

Hello, hello!

So I warned you yesterday that I was slightly hooked on this CAS layout and it would probably be showing up again. Well, here it is only a day later, LOL! I did switch things up a bit by moving the paper strip down to the bottom and adding the cluster of pennants to break up the white space above though.
The image is from the Pergamano Flower Girls set and I've had her sitting on my desk for over a month just waiting for some love. Because the paper I had stamped her on was already cut to the size of a card front keeping this CAS was a no brainer... I sure saved loads of time from trying to fussy cut this one out. ;)
And go figure... the week that I could use any winged friend for a Flutter By challenge, all I've got are traditional butterflies on my card. Oh well, it turned out too pretty not to enter just because of that.

Enjoy your day and I'll see ya in 24!

Hello friend...

Hi guys!

I'm on the run again but I want to quickly share the card that I made for this week's Flutter By challenge. The challenge is to use three or more layers of paper on your card and that didn't seem to hard at all. Especially since I had been wanting to cut into the Farm Girl paper pad from October Afternoon for quite a while now. There is something about the Lucy stamps from CC Designs that have me using them with OA papers more times than not. This go round it is Butterfly Lucy coming out to play and I'm using this older stamp as a bit of a hint as to what is coming out at ATS in a few days. ;)

Ok friends, hope your day is great and I'll catch ya later!

Hey you...

Good morning!

Well, I'm still not 100% but compared to how I was feeling Saturday and Sunday I am doing much better. And lucky me, I still have today off to really get over this flu before heading back to work tomorrow.

I wasn't really planning on making anything yesterday but by the afternoon I was bored and tired of pinning or watching TV. I ended up going into the crafty room only thinking that I would clean and organize for a bit but when I came across this Kraftin' Kimmie fairy sitting on my desk I just had to start coloring her up for a card. I'd actually stamped up Talullahbelle a week or so ago because I realized she was the lone KK fairy that had yet to get on a card and it was time to rectify that situation. The timing is also just right for me to enter this card into the open Flutter By challenge just under the wire. ;)
It feels good checking Talullahbelle off my list of stamps waiting for some love but I have to admit that now I'm kinda anxious to see some new KK fairies hit the scene. It's been a long time and I can't be the only one who thinks it would be great to see that line grow with some fun new characters. You know my fingers and toes are all crossed. :)

Okey dokey, take care my friends!

Holiday joy

Howdy folks!

Talk about a day... I ended up having to stay two hours late at work and then drive home in the snow storm that had been going steady all day. Luckily I had the 4 wheel drive to get me up all the hills since the snow plows must have been busy elsewhere. But I was totally beat once I finally made it home.

That doesn't mean that I didn't make time for a quick card to unwind though. I've had this Christmas Lights Fairy printed out and waiting so I gathered some paper scraps together and colored her up to match. And because she is a little fairy I'm going to enter this card into this week's open challenge over at Flutter By. I kept things clean and simple and the only embellishments on it aren't even traditional paper crafting supplies... I had a miniature plastic light strand and cut it apart to add a couple of bulbs to the bow. I had to wrap it up after that though because my eyes were starting to droop. :)

Arighty friends, take care and I'll see ya in 24.

So happy to flutter by

Olo!

So before my semi-hiatus from stamping I had said goodbye to one of my favorite challenges out there, the Flutter By challenge. Now that I'm back, imagine my delight to find that Danni has brought back the challenge with all of it's fluttering fairy and butterfly goodness. Yeah!

The challenge this week is open and I couldn't wait to dive back into the fun. A quick search through my binders and I had just the Christmas fairy stamp for the job... Crystal Flakes from Sugar Nellie. It was a bonus that she had yet to see ink yet so that's another small crafty victory. I used the Crystal Flakes stamp with a bit of selective inking to add all of the extra snowflakes falling around her and the sentiment. Then I just added some glitter pen to give them a bit of sparkle. More scraps are out of the bag and onto a card so all in all I'm a happy stamper. :)

Well, it's looking to be a busy, busy day ahead so I'll wrap this up and bid you all adieu.

One last Flutter By...

Hola chicas!

My card today is rather bittersweet... I made it for the 200th Flutter By challenge. And sadly this challenge will be the last one at Flutter By. I've enjoyed playing along in Danni's challenges for a couple years now so it will be kind of strange not having them to look forward to each week. Still, even though I will miss the challenges I couldn't miss making one final card for them.

The challenge this week is a sketch so that took all the guess work out of the card. All I had to do was find the right papers to go along with this altered Anya that I put together. Even though the Flutter By challenge requires either a butterfly, fairy or angel to qualify, I always liked to have a fairy on my FB cards. So I thought it would be fun to alter up a little Anya fairy. I chose Sitting Cute's body with Princess Anya 3's head (minus her crown), then once she was glued together I added some vellum butterfly wings for her to flutter away with. The papers are all October Afternoon Sidewalks because the bright, happy colors totally caught my eye. And yes, that's another Studio Calico wood veneer embelly, just like the birds from yesterday. I'm really diggin' the different look that these cute things add to my cards.

I hope that if you have time to play along this week that you will join in and help give the Flutter By challenge a fond farewell. :)
Hugs!

Spring song

Hi friends!

I hope that you had a lovely weekend whether you were celebrating Easter or not. The weather was absolutely beautiful here in my little corner of the world and I couldn't have enjoyed myself more. :)

Now that the holiday is done and over it feels pretty wide open as to what types of cards I can make. All this freedom and wouldn't you know it, I make another very spring looking card. Yes, I used more Dear Lizzy but I swear I am almost through the small pile of scraps that I've been trying to use up of it. That doesn't mean I don't have a whole little 6x6 pad of it waiting in the wings but at least it won't be staring me in the face each time that I try to clean my desk, LOL! And I'm back on my mission of inking up neglected stamps. This little beauty is Hazel from Sugar Nellie's Fairy Glen collection. I LOVE these little fairies and I got her ages ago but still she sat, waiting ever so patiently on that mushroom of hers. I think the spring pastels really suit her though so the wait seems to have been worth it. And I'm entering Hazel into this week's open challenge over at Flutter By because I know she'll fit right in over there. ;)

Well, another Monday means another day of work so I guess I should go get ready for it.

Like a rainbow...

Hola!

Guess who has the day off today? Me! And guess who has most of her to-do list already done? That would also be me. Yeah! So I'm hoping to get a coloring video done... keep my fingers crossed, LOL! :)

I made my card for this week's open Flutter By challenge and I couldn't resist inking up little Shimmer Bean for it. I recently picked up this cool cloud print paper that made for a fun sky backdrop and then I just pulled random scraps out of one of my scrap bags. I went against my usual instincts to line everything up perfectly and instead just stapled the paper strips all together and left them kind of wonky. The bright colors in the striped paper gave me the rest of my direction for finishing the whole thing off, what with the rainbow reference in the sentiment and even coloring up Shimmer to look like a bright ray of sunshine after the storm. It all turned out a little quirky and crazy, and other than wanting to straighten those paper strips, I'm happy with it. ;)

Alrighty, time for me to see about that video. Have a good one my friends!

Good day sunshine...

T to the G to the I to the F!

Is March coming in like a lion for you too? Considering I'm starting off the month with cold and snow you had better believe that I"m hoping the old adage holds true and that 30 days from now spring will really, truly be here... just like a soft and sweet little lamb. :)

So I wanted to play along with this week's Flutter By challenge, which is open, and still keep within my personal challenge to ink up the neglected stamps in my stash. Can you believe that I had never used this beautiful Fairy Isabelle stamp before? Tsk, tsk... I feel like such a bad stamper! But I'm going to just tell myself that she was waiting for the perfect paper to come along, yea that's it. ;)
I did alter her just a bit though to help further tell the story that I wanted to with this card. All I did was stamp one of the dandelion puffs around her hand and drew in some closed fingers to hold it. Oh, and if you couldn't tell, I was playing around with that great YR27 again. It's in a different combination that gave me a more orange rather than golden finished look but it's still quickly becoming another fave hair combo I think.

Okey dokey, time for me to sign off. Have a good one!

What happened?

to my dreams of spring?

Seriously, it was not supposed to snow again people! So imagine my surprise (and dismay) when the white stuff started to fall yesterday afternoon and continued on through the night. Bleh, I guess I should have paid more attention to what the groundhog had to say about our spring forecast.

If you hadn't guessed, this card was actually made before my snowy doom and gloom. It was a happier time... a more optimistic time... a time of bare ground and the promise of warmer days to come. LOL, how's that for being just a tad melodramatic? ;)
Ok, enough of my whining. A while back I spotted this lovely fairy on Pinterest and after following the links back I found myself at Mo's Digital Pencil. Needless to say, I was smitten and had to get Fairy Mia right then and there. But since it was during the holidays she ended up just sitting and waiting patiently in my hard drive. That is, until the other day when I was high on a spring fever kick and a mission to show those neglected stamps (and digi stamps) some love. So I printed Mia out and started coloring her up to match this pretty floral piece of paper that is actually the packaging for some Prima flowers that I could never throw away. I tried to keep the colors very light and bright as I was going for a kind of sun-bleached look with her. Over all I'm pretty happy with how she came out and I LOVE how the yellow dress looks (the secret is adding some of my beloved E81 as the darkest shadow in the Y combo).

And now I am entering her into this week's Flutter By challenge which is that you can include anything with wings. Normally you have to stick with just butterflies, fairies or angels but this week... if it flies, it qualifies... LOL! :)

Alrighty, I guess I should go get ready for driving to work in the snow... again... whine, moan, grumble... I hope it is sunnier in your neck of the woods!
Toodles!

And the angels sang...

Ah, Monday... here you are again.
Hey guys, so are you ready to get back into the swing of another week? I'm feeling pretty upbeat and positive for a Monday morning and I hope that means good things for the rest of the week. Remember that MIA paper pad that I was searching high and low for? Well after giving up hope yesterday, I found it in the backseat of the car of all places! Sheesh! At least now I can stop obsessing about it, LOL! ;)

I made my card for today using one of the Kraftin' Kimmie angels that I had colored up from a previous "white" video that I did, which can be found here or on Color Me Copic. Because white has a tendency to reflect whatever color surrounds it, I used very light pinks to color Aurelia knowing that I would be pairing her up with this pink snowflake paper from October Afternoon. Talk about a very girly looking Christmas card, but instead of fighting it I ran with the look. Throw on some glittery cardstock, sparkly twine and a pretty handmade stick pin that my November Secret Sister, Kim, made me and it was done!

I'm also entering this one into the open challenge over at Flutter By this week. It's been awhile since I've played along and this time of year is the perfect excuse to add angels into the fluttery mix. :)

And now I must bid you adieu as I go get ready for work.
