New release at Colorado Craft Company, The Way of Water

Hello there!

I'm excited to be participating in this month's new release blog hop with Colorado Craft Company. The new collection is called, The Way of Water and it features stamps by Anita Jeram like you haven't seen before. You won't find any of her usual bunnies, bears, mice, squirrels, cats and dogs because this time around it is all about the sea and the magic you can find there. This nautical themed release includes three large 6" x 6" stamps, a  3" x 4" and a 2" x 3" mini, all with matching dies. To celebrate this release 3C is giving away a new stamp set from each stop on the hop, so the more you comment the more chances you have to win. Entries will be accepted until midnight mountain time February 1st and winners will be randomly selected by 3C and announced on their blog the next day. They are also doing a HUGE complete bundle giveaway to ONE lucky winner. To be entered for that you have to use one of the designer's affiliate links when you place an order. Those links can be found on the 3C blog and will be included in one of their emails as well. In the mean time, here's the complete list of hop participants for you to check out:

I've got three cards to share today. The first features the 6x6 Mermaid and Penguins stamp set. Now even though this is a 6x6 stamp, I generally don't make a lot of square cards because they cost more to mail. Instead I jumped up a size from my usual A2 to an A6 and with the additional penguin included in the set and a repeat stamping of one of the vines and bubbles I easily filled the extra bit of space on the right side of the card. Isn't this mermaid adorable? She has a folk art look to her that just makes me smile and I love the movement captured by all those swimming penguins.

For my second card I stamped the 6x6 Mermaid and Seahorses stamp onto another A6 sized card front. There is an extra seahorse included in the set, which I used to fill the space up top but I also cut another one off of the main stamp as well as some bubbles. I don't know about you, but I regularly cut apart my clear stamps so that I can get extra mileage out of them. I went with a brighter color palette on this card as well, since I figured seahorses live in more tropical waters.

Finally, I paired the 3x4 Seas the Day seagulls with the 2x3 Walrus mini to create this beachy scene. A couple of the shells littering the beach were also borrowed from the 6x6 Mermaid and Whale set. I wanted it to look like cold Atlantic waters on this card so I went for cooler blues and a cloudy sky that might turn into a storm soon. Those gulls best get their meal quick before the rain starts coming down. :)

Ok, time to send you on your way. I hope you enjoy these new ocean loving images as much as I do!

Lovely cards. I'm glad you made a card with the Walrus. I already ordered him and now I see that I should have ordered the Seas The Day set because he will be lonely without it. So, I'm ordering in that set in a few. Thanks for the colors you used too. [Bunny]
