Happy accidents

Howdy all!
Hope this brand new week finds you well. :)

When I started this card it was with the intention of creating another quick and easy one. And while it was a pretty easy design in the end, the quick factor kinda went out the window when I got the "brilliant" idea to use a bunch of floral rub-ons on the front of the card. That combined with the coloring of little Kenya Ketto and I ended up spending quite a bit of time on this one.

The front of the card is actually diagonally cut to reveal the inside of the card which has the sentiment stamped on it. In the end it turned out kinda cool looking and I could play it off like that was my plan all along but to tell the truth... originally I had done some stamping on the front that did not look good at all. Seriously, it was a hot mess! But I didn't want to let all the rub-on work go to waste so I just sliced off the offending part and covered up what was left with my new scallop framed Ketto cutie. Whew... disaster averted! ;)

All in all I guess I have to agree with Bob Ross... there are no mistakes, just happy accidents. :)

Peace out!

ooooh, INDEED, Amy! first of all, i love that Ketto. i need to use mine more often as i fell in love with them from the getgo. second, your floral rubons are FANTASTIC, and the design of the card totally works! although i am curious about this "disaster" you claim to have averted. i have a hard time believing that you'd produce such a thing!

Wow Amy....I'll trade your happy accidents with my happy disasters!! This is just gorgeous and another reason why I come to you for my inspiration!! You've converted me to these crazy Ketto's too and I just got my first order of them in along with a coupla supacute Buggs.

I really like this style of card and will have to remember this technique for the future.

Thanks for your messages during the past week. I'm finally coming up for a breath of air - I think. Hopefully my dear Mama will be going home some time this week - though that still means a wee bit of extra 'work' for me, at least I know she'll be back home with her friends around her.

Thanks for your sweet comment on my St Paddy's card too....I was totally shocked I got in the Top 5 as I was a wee bit worried the card was toooo busy and the focus wasn't on that darling little image.

At least you got to save your 'accident'. Mine usually end up in the bin! No one ever sees the time and effort put into our cards, they just see the end result and presume it was always meant to turn out that way! If you hadn't told us what happened, we would presume you creatively did this on purpose. It's amazing! Love all the rubons and that gorgeous Ketto looks perfect on your diagonal card! (you'll start a diagonal card craze!)

Oh, I would never have guessed the you bodged the top corner and cut it off!! Love the rub-ons... can see why you wanted to keep that side of the card, they're fab!! I'd have probably thrown it all in the bin and started again... next time, I'll try and give a disaster more thought!! love it!

Hmmmm....Blogger won't let me look at this one. I'm sure it's super cute though!

I totally use that Bob Ross quote in my card classes all the time! That, and "every 'Oops' is room for creativity".
