Not much going on...

At least not today but this evening will be busy. I have my card class tonight and it's sold out so that will keep me on my toes and be a lot of fun. It's also So You Think You Can Dance night! I'll have to tape it so I don't miss the first hour 'cause I love that show... a total guilty pleasure. ;) Anybody else watching? Personally, I don't think the boys this year are as strong as the ones last year. Maybe that's why there haven't been as many "WOW" routines... who knows... but it's still a fun watch.
Now onto my card for the day. This is a simple one I put together for the FFF Supplies, Supplies challenge a couple weeks ago. We were supposed to use at least two different stamps, punches and bling.

Bella Blvd sneak peeks!

With summer CHA only about a week away the sneak peeks for new paper and goodies are really starting to show up, which is always exciting! But today I saw teasers from one of my most favorite paper companies, Bella Blvd, and I just had to spread the word. :)
Bella Blvd have only been around for about a year but Stephanie's designs had me from 'hello'... I love her color combos and her designs are so inspiring to use. And now there are four new collections to look forward to:

The BIG news this release is the addition of some new embellishments to the product lines and can I just say there will be stamps... oh yes there will be stamps... yeah! Ah Monday, a fresh new start to a fresh new week. I can't say that Monday's are my favorite days but what can ya do? Maybe posting a card I made last week will help get rid of my Monday blahs... it's worth a try anyways. ;)
This is another altered Miss Anya fairy and the card is following my summer goal to use up as much of my paper scraps as possible. In fact, I took it a step further on this one, see the wood grain pattern in the background? That is actually the packaging from a Making Memories stamp set I had gotten recently. I thought it was too pretty to throw away and I was very proud of myself for putting it to use so quickly... yeah me!

Another altered fairy

So... I was just cleaning and organizing a bit before tonight's midnight crop at the LSS, putting away some finished cards and decided I needed to get another fairy up on here. :)

Maybe while I'm there tonight I'll take pics of the sample cards I created for the card class I'm teaching this Wednesday. Then perhaps I shall post them here tomorrow... at the very least they will be a change up from all this GF love I've been on a roll with. Don't get me wrong, I could post GF projects all the time, they are so fab, but I do use other things too. ;)

An altered Miss Anya

I haven't been keeping it a secret that I would love for Marie to make some Miss Anya fairies and mermaid stamps... I think I suggest it every VSN night at the Club Anya PCP page. Until that day comes though I will have to be content with altering my own.
This one is from the original Miss Anya set and she had some shopping bags in her hands. So what I do is:

• 1. stamp the original image
• 2. then place it on a light box and use a thin sheet of computer paper over it to trace the basic outline of her head and body
• 3. next I take it off the light box and get down to drawing in the new clothes I want her to be wearing and adding the wings, all in pencil
• 4. once I have her just the way I like, the new sketch goes on the light box and I place a sheet of Georgia Pacific cardstock over it and trace the design with Copic Multiliner black pens. Mostly using .03 and .01
• 5. now a fairy is ready to color and cut out... not the quickest thing to do but I enjoy it

Farm Fresh Friday

Let's take a quick break from posting older cards to show one I just made today. It's the Farm Fresh Friday challenge once again over at The Greeting Farm and we had a new sketch to play with. Can I just say I love that my day off from work coincides with the new challenge days 'cause that way I can jump in and create right away... fun, fun, fun! :)

I had some scraps of the fishy Doodlebug papers still sitting on my desk from a previous project so my inspiration totally came from that. Especially once I realized how perfect a match in style the Greeting Farm stamps are to Doodlebug's designs, both are very playful and kinda cartoon-y looking.

I only did some slight altering to the mermaid stamp by swiping the ink off of her closed eyes before I stamped and then drawing in some open eyes for her to see all her little friends with.

More Greeting Farm love

Here's a card I made for the Farm Fresh sketch challenge at the Greeting Farm. You could have knocked me over with a feather when it was actually chosen as that weeks winning entry!

I was so excited and honored to get that recognition... and the free stamp set I won sure wasn't bad either... ;)

I used a lot of different scrap paper, cut out with my Coluzzle (SO bummed to hear that Provo Craft isn't making these anymore, they were always my #1 recommendation when someone needed a small circle cutter.)to make the rainbow.

Using up scraps is actually one of the goals I have set for myself this summer. I want to try and make as many cards as I can using only paper from my scrap bags and using as many different stamps as I can too. I have way too many that haven't been inked yet and that just makes a stamp sad. Sad stamps you say? Yes, sad little neglected stamps... did you ever see the episode of Friends with Phoebe and the Christmas trees that weren't purchased from the lot Joey was working at and she was all concerned about them 'fulfilling their Christmas destiny'? I feel the same way about my stamps, they need to fulfill their inky destiny and shine on a card or two. :)

So far I'm not doing too bad with this goal, though I still have a long ways to go.

This is the last card I did for the Dotty Spotty challenge at the Greeting Farm. I created my own Anya polka dot paper by drawing circles then masking each one off as I stamped the different faces inside them. This card design was really just a fun excuse to practice coloring a bunch of different skin and hair types with my Copic markers...

Here we have yet another past Greeting Farm challenge. This one required you to use three different Greeting Farm stamps on one card. This was also my very first attempt at coloring with Copic markers, I have since become completely hooked on them! Though I still have a lot to learn with blending and what not.

Anywho, this was another challenge at The Greeting Farm. It was to create a single layer card. There was a lot of time and patience put into this one, what with having to stamp and mask off, stamp and mask off, repeat, repeat, repeat to give it the illusion of depth. I love how it turned out though, so it's all good. :)
