My heart feels happy

Olo!

Yesterday turned out to be a long day... but a good day. Still, it didn't leave me any time to get into the crafty room and create. Luckily for me, I had a couple of cards published in the very first edition of Designed to Color and after 30 days I'm allowed to share them here. So that is exactly what I've got for ya today. :)

This card features the adorable Wild Sprout Ruby (who will always be a fave of mine) and I paired her up with some KI Memories Hot Date papers. Yea, this was kinda-sorta a Valentine card but I don't think that makes it too late to blog it now. The color palette is pretty non-traditional for Valentines anyway. ;)
So of course all the colors on Ruby were pulled from the colors in the papers which allowed for quite a mix. And the sentiment and the little envelope in her hand were also cut from different parts of the papers. After that, there really didn't seem to be a whole lot that needed to be added in order to finish off the card... just a metal rim tag to highlight the sentiment and a little staple to hold it in place. It's a pretty quick and easy layout design and I think that Ruby looks right at home here... and pretty darn thrilled to have received that love letter from her secret admirer! LOL

Alrighty, I'm off to go play a bit. Have a great one!

Amy I love your card. I missed out on the new magazine because of the paypal thing. lol... Hopefully when the next one is up for sale I'll be able to send you the money. Of course that comes with a big PLEASE... As I know you are sweet to help me out. I have to tell you that when I got your card I just loved the tiny attacher staples that I finally broke down and ordered one. I have been so good not to bother with it for all this time, but you have made me a believer of it. It is just such a simple little touch, but adds so much to your cards. lol...I love it! Hope you are getting a sunny weekend. We are sunny, but I have yet to even open my blinds yet today. Hugs, Lisa

Ruby is adorable here Amy. Perfectly fits this card scheme and theme. She's also beautifully colored. She is definitely one of my all time faves. I will have to ink her up soon. It was really nice to see your creations in the D2C mag, super inspirational!
