Just because

Good morning my sweet friends.
Am I the only one who feels like this week is just flying by? And even though weekends are always a good thing I'm kinda hoping that today and tomorrow slow down just a bit so I can start feeling on top of things again. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines, but I'm getting things done... just need to keep plugging away.

But that doesn't mean I don't make time to create a card or two... taking a break to craft helps me unwind and de-stress, even if they are quick and simple. Which brings me to today's card... I used a Stamping Bella Lulu stamp and though I think they are pretty cute, for a girl who likes to color her images I was a bit disappointed that so much of the stamp was already filled in, like the hair. So basically your only options are black or brown hair depending on what color ink you use... grumble, grumble. Oh well, it did make her really quick to color. :)

The rest of the card is scrap cardstock I had lying around and the flowers are actually cut out from the packaging of some new Basic Grey stamps I just got, which makes me feel positively green (and thrifty). ;)

Alrighty, check ya later! Supply list:
cardstock- Kraft, CC Designs ivory
Basic Grey Origins packaging
stamps- Stamping Bella (Lulu Emma) Basic Grey (LE set 1- dragonfly, LE set 4-sentiment)
ink- Memento rich cocoa and Colorbox chestnut roan chalk ink
twine
Copic Spica glitter pens
Copic markers:
skin- E50, E51, R20, YG03
hair- E37, E57, E49
clothes- YG93, YG95, YG97, Y00, Y04, Y08, E13, G20, YG11, G12
dragonfly- G0000, G000

Hi Amy, this is super cute. I just love the flowers on it. Way to use up your extras! lol...I am with you on the hair. I think that is one of my favorite things to color. Love the colors of your card. They are very pretty and just sooo soothing. Have a wonderful day, Lisa

your fussycutting here is fantastic, Amy! a girl after my own heart. new BG packaging? i love it!

i'll be sure to watch for that problem with any stamps i might consider buying. i found the same to be true with the Ketto line, in fact. as much as i love ALL of the images, many of them had a whole lot of positive space.

Oh and yeah, I'm with you on the stamps that are already filled in. I love the Kettos...but 1. they are so teeny tiny and 2. what you said. :(

Very cute! Don't ya just love those Basic Grey packages? I've used mine as well. I agree with u on those Stamping Bella stamps - I adore their Ketto stamps but they are quite small and most of the areas are filled in.

For me, I'm actually thinking that this week is ultra slow, but it's a good thing because now I'm off for 4 days! Hope to get a few cards done!

How noice that you are doing your bit to save the planet. I always keep the packaging too, you never know what you can us or how.

I positively adore this card....I love all the elements and the colour combo. I don't have any of the kettos for that reason, they are super cute - but I prefer options. I have a gazillion bellas though. :)

Hope you meet all your deadlines and can chillax over the weekend.

Oh, Amy...I adore everything you do. I don't think there has been a time where your blog popped up on my Reader and I didn't just sigh with viewing pleasure, and this is no exception! I totally agree about the Ketto's - LOVE the images, though they are kind of tiny, and I have mostly skipped ordering the one's with the solid hair. Even the one's without solid hair don't have a lot of hair coloring area. Still, love your card! :-)Traci

I totally understand about the coloring thing... I find that many of my stamps are unused because they aren't for coloring in! lol! Your card really is beautiful though. I love the flowers and the brown ink is gorgeous on it!

What a great idea you did cutting the flowers from the packing. It looks so pretty. I have had this stamp since Aug. and still have not created anyting with it yet!! I think little Lulu Emma is just to cute!! I hope things start slowing for you this week. I also can't seem to find the time to get things done.
