The sale will not be held over so stop back daily to see what's new and snatch them up at the fab sale price. :)

Today my card features the industrious home decorator, Bright Lights Kaylee. She is bundled up for the cold, ready to climb that ladder and make her home the best decorated house on the block. Yep, move over Clark Griswold 'cause Kaylee's not going to stop with just decorating the house... the trees, shrubs, fence and anything else else left standing still are all going to get treated with some baubles and bling, LOL!

Now be sure to head over to the SOG blog and check out the other new Christmas cuties that are being previewed and released today... they are all fantastic! :)

Making friends this Christmas season

TGIF my friends!

I'm back again with a final Sister Stamps holiday release preview and I promise that this new stamp is just as cute as the last two. :)
Today I used the super cute Shimo-san, or according to Jenny... Mr. Frosty, image for my card. This trio of winter pals easily create a fun and whimsical scene that is perfect for Christmas cards or even just sweet seasonal cards. I went more winter-y with the cool blue and green color scheme and I can't help but wonder if that samurai hat has the special 'first snow of the season' magic that will bring Shimo-san to life for those two little kids? I guess we'll find out in a second or two... ;)

Now, if you would like a chance to win Shimo-san before you can buy the stamp then simply head on over to the Sister Stamps blog and leave a comment here by today. Then mark your calendars for October 1st because that is when all three of the new stamps will be available for purchase!

Thanks for the visit!

Winter Wonderland

Hey guys (please scroll down for my SOG preview... thanks!)

Well, it Thursday and that means we have a new challenge
over on the Tickled Pink challenge blog. This week we are feeling frosty and want to see some winter inspired cards.

I used the new Lil Victorian Christmas Ivy from the Victorian Christmas line of Lil Lolita stamps because with her fabulous coat, bonnet and fur muff she was ideal for the winter theme. Not only that but I also wanted to do a quick video on how I color up white clothes which you can see here or over on the Color Me Copic blog.

Alrighty, back to the challenge! If you would like a chance at winning your choice of 1 rubber or 2 digi stamps then why not play along? Don't forget that your card must feature a Tickled Pink stamp in order to qualify for the prize... these include: Lil Lolitas and Lads, Pinkettes, Pink Pets and Cherries. All of which can be found in the Tickled Pink store.

Good luck!

Today I made a card using the gorgeous new Winter Mae digi and I just love everything about her. As soon as I saw that cool outfit she was wearing I envisioned her all decked out in cool blues and creams so I had to search for some papers that would work with that color scheme. Luckily I had some old Sassafras papers that fit my vision exactly.

My card features the brand new Kimono Kaylee. This pretty gal is rockin' her own stylish spin on the whole geisha look don'tcha think? ;)
And because I thought she looked so trendy and cute I decided to use some yellow and grey together since this color combo seems to be "the hot look" of the season. Seriously, I'm seeing it everywhere and on everything here recently. I'm not normally a big grey fan but considering the pop of bright yellow really livens it up I gotta say I'm kinda diggin' this look. At least I think that Kaylee approves! ;)

Happy Holidays

Well hello again!

So my fellow Gleeks... are you a unicorn?
Awww Brit, gotta love her. I thought that last night was interesting... a bit light on the tunes and heavy on setting up story lines, but you've got to have those kinds of shows I suppose. Still, I'm definitely doing my best to be a unicorn. :)

And now for my card, I'm once again excited to be joining Jenny at Sister Stamps as a guest for this month's new holiday release. Today I used darling little Yuki, which means blessing/snow, and she has such a look of pure joy about her that it's hard not to feel the same Christmas excitement that she is! I can't blame her one bit, just look at that cute puppy that Santa left in her stocking. You know that little pup was the only thing on her list this year and she was an oh-so-good girl every day just hoping to find him wiggling and waiting for her on Christmas morning.

And if you would like a chance to win Yuki before you can buy her then simply head on over to the Sister Stamps blog and leave a comment here before September 30th. Then mark your calendars for October 1st because that is when all three of the new stamps will be available for purchase!

Big hugs!

Monster Mania

Happy Tuesday to everyone!

Why is it happy you ask? Because it is Glee night, LOL! ;)

And because it is such a happy day I needed an equally happy card to share. We are doing review previews of the September Sweet November release over on the ATS blog today and I thought that Mumford would be a great choice. Not only does his crazy expression make me smile but I also thought that considering Mumford is mostly white I could easily get away with using some crazy, bright, happy colors with him. And when it comes to paper lines you can't get more cute and colorful than Doodlebug in my opinion. The new Monster Mania papers were a great fit considering Mumford is a little monster himself so I cut them up into a bunch of little squares to create a wonky grid-like background. I think it turned out kinda playful looking, which is what i was going for anyway.

Anywho, don't forget to check out what the rest of the gals have made with the other SN Fiendish Friends over at ATS... I'm sure that they are all monstrously magical!

Later gators! :) Supply list:

A hauntingly cool surprise!

Hey guys (please scroll down for my Sister Stamps preview... thanks!)

So you remember the fantastic set of Halloween digis that Tickled Pink debuted last year, don't you? Weeeellll... great news for all my fellow fans of rubber, the original set of four Lil Haunts are now available in rubber! That's right, Vampire Lilith, Witch Lylah, Ghost Willow and Frankenstein Frankie are all ready to get truly inky. :)
And the best part is... no waiting! You can find them in
the Tickled Pink Store right now!

It's true that digis are great sometimes, especially if you want to play and manipulate the size or orientation of an image but to be honest I don't ever feel like I actually 'have' an image until I've got that wonderful little piece of rubber snuggled safely away in my binders, LOL!

To celebrate this occasion I decided to ink up Lil Frankie. I just love this guy! He's got a pretty cool attitude for a monster and kinda brings to mind a Halloween hipster. Which of course meant I had to pair him up with these great Spookville papers because they have a great retro vibe too. ;)

For more info and great card inspiration be sure to head on over to the Tickled Pink blog today.

Thanks for stopping by and happy haunting!

Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas!

Hello, hello!

I'm so excited to be joining Jenny at Sister Stamps as a guest for this month's new holiday release! I've been a big fan of these darling stamps since they first debuted so when Jenny asked if I could join the fun this go round it's not like she had to twist my arm at all. :)

For my first card out I used sweet little Setsuna, or Calm Snow, and he is dressed up as that jolly old elf... Santa Claus! I really love the energy and movement of this little guy, I can really feel his excitement for Christmas. I thought it would be funny to add that strip of paper with the reindeer behind him, kinda like it could be a backdrop in his Christmas pageant or something. You just know that Setsuna would be a total ham in front of an audience, Ho Ho Ho-ing as loud as he can for all to hear. ;)

And if you would like a chance to win Setsuna before you can buy him then simply head on over to the Sister Stamps blog and leave a comment here before September 30th. Then mark your calendars for October 1st because that is when all three of the new stamps will be available for purchase... giving all you good girls and boys plenty of time to make some fun Christmas cards with these cuties!

TTFN!

Things are gonna get cuh-razy

up in here! ;)

Hey guys, I'm just popping in real quick because I've got loads to do this coming week with lots of fun and exciting previews to share, and it's all starting tomorrow! There will be multiple posts going up some days but there is no help for it and I promise that they are all exciting and totally worth checking out so I hope you don't miss out on any of the fun. We are definitely going to be wrapping up this month of September with tons of stamping goodness! :)

And this little card is a result of all my work preparing for previews and what not. I needed a card for today but couldn't spend a ton of time on it so this had to be really simple and quick to color. I ended up pulling out a set of clear stamps that I got more for scrappin' than cards and 'made it work'.

Ok, seriously... I've got to go get busy, busy, busy!
Have a good one my friends!

Choose your challenge at TPS

TGIF everybody!

Well, I'm a day late in getting this up here on my blog but there is still plenty of time to participate in this week's challenge
over on the Tickled Pink challenge blog and it is your choice to create something with one or more of the following combos: buttons & twine, lace & pattern paper or chipboard & distressing.

Surprise, surprise... I chose to do the lace and pattern paper combo on my card. ;)
This is actually the first time that I've ever used papers by Graphic 45. While they are totally cool looking, most of the time they just don't jive with my usual style. But when I saw the Christmas Emporium line I knew that they would be perfect with this new Victorian Christmas line of Lil Lolita stamps and had to get it. So I inked up Victorian Christina again and this card came together super quick!

And did you know that Kellie is having a BIG sale in the Tickled Pink Store right now? All Pinkette stamps are 50% off and there are also savings of 25%-65% off Lolitas and Lads, Foxes, Kraftin' Kimmie, SOG and more... so check it out!

Good luck!

An Odd color challenge

Hello again stampin' peeps!

Today I've got a card for the new Photo Inspired Color Challenge over at Some Odd Girl.
The pic is up over on the SOG blog and it features a beautiful combination of pinks, lime greens and aquas all in a cool looking non-traditional Christmas wreath. Now you don't have to make a Christmas card with it but sometimes it can be fun to go a bit crazy and shake up the traditional red and green. ;)

I decided to ink up the newest Oddie, Holly Day Gwen because I love her party like flair and she's just such a little beauty. And while the papers I chose to work with aren't really Christmas prints I think that by pairing them with all that snowy white they work as a fun and flirty Christmas card. The ornaments were kind of a happy accident... I ordered these 'raspberry beads' from Maya Road and when I got them they were much bigger and bulkier than I had expected them to be. I didn't even think that I'd be able to use them on anything. But as I was fiddling with them I noticed that I could pry them in half and use glue dots to attach them. This way they reminded me of fancy ornaments and even if they make it so I have to send this card in a bubble mailer I'm cool with it... getting the perfect look and putting them to use is totally worth it.

Alrighty, time for you to get inspired and colorful and show us your take on the challenge! You've got until October 4th to enter a card for a chance at winning a fab prize and while you don't have to use a SOG image to qualify, you do get an extra name in the hat come drawing time if you do. :)

Have fun and good luck!

Spider treats

OMGosh guys!
Can you believe that I almost didn't realize that the new season of Glee started last night? For some reason I was thinking it was next week. Thank goodness Lisa set me straight in time so that I didn't miss it!
I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched yet but I am SO excited/sad for this year. I'm trying to enjoy everything but it is hard not to think about some of my favorites leaving. Still, its good to have Kurt back and yeah for Blaine joining the group! Now I can't wait to see how and when they introduce the winners of the Glee Project into the mix. :)

Anywho, I do also have a card to share today too, LOL! I got these cool Martha Stewart Halloween treat bags super cheap recently and when I came across this 'spider treats' one I knew that I wanted to use it on a card with Sweet November Witch Hazel and her spider pal, Webster. Now I'm not sure if the intent is to have treats for spiders or treats made from spiders but in this case lets go with the later. ;)
So did you notice that Hazel has quite the lipstick look going on here? Yea, I had a little "help" coloring from my cat Oreo. While I was adding some color to Hazel's bottom lip Oreo decided at that moment to jump up and join me on the table, bumping my elbow enough to have it go a bit crazy. I debated starting over but since I already had all her skin and hair colored up I really didn't want to have to do all that work again so I tried to rock the look instead. I'm just telling myself it is her special party look. :)

Ok, time for me to make like a banana and split... catch ya in 24!

The moon laughs and whispers...

Isn't that a great line?

Morning friends!
Today we are doing a review preview of some of the newest stamps just released over at All That Scraps. I took this as the perfect reason to ink up Joe Joe the Werewolf once again. ;)
His sweet expression gets me every time and I love that despite him being a 'big, bad, scary Halloween monster' it looks like he's way more afraid of the black cat there than it is of him. Part of that may be because I have a tendency to color Joe Joe up so that he resembles my little Yorkie, who is hardly a frightening beast, LOL!
The card layout is pretty simple since my mojo is still on walk-about, so I relied heavily on the cool Fancy Pants papers to do most of the work for me. Heck, that great sentiment even came on one of the sheets in the paper pad.

Well, considering how close we are getting to the month of October and all of the Halloween goodness that comes with it Joe Joe and the rest of his SN Fiendish Friends are jumping at the chance to play on even more cards before the season ends. :)

Ok, time for me to scoot...thanks for stopping by!

Monday, September 19, 2011

Hi!

Oh Monday, Monday... how y'all doin' today?

I'd love to say that I got tons of stuff done yesterday but alas, I did not. I don't know why but the last couple days I've kind of found myself in a bit of a creative funk. Not a lot of mojo or motivation floating around apparently. Some of it may stem from a feeling of being in a bit of a rut with my card designs. I'm hoping that something will spark a new direction here soon. I'm not looking for a complete overhaul by any means, as I know what I like and what I like to use... I just have that feeling of wanting to streeeeetch outside my comfort zone and see where it takes me. Wish me luck that inspiration strikes sooner rather than later! :)

And I wasn't completely without inspiration yesterday... as I did have some new stamps to play with. If you've followed me for awhile you know that I love the older fairy stamp sets from Pergamano. I've been totally keeping an eye out for any new additions to that line and while there has been nothing new from Pergamano it looks like the artist of the fairy images is now working with Nellie Snellen (and Sugar Nellie too but that will be a separate post, LOL). That means new images, yeah! So far I've only found them available in UK stores but I couldn't help myself and placed an order anyway. Considering the distance these little fairies had to fly to get to me I still got them super quick which was great!

The first little gal that I inked up is called Star, isn't she sweet? I may have chosen to take a small break from the Halloween cards for this but the colors still seem to be leaning towards that fall-ish look if you ask me. I paired her up with some gorgeous new Farmhouse papers from Crate and in an attempt to shake things up, I played a bit more with textures by adding the twill letters for my sentiment and ruffling the crochet lace around the image. I really like how this turned out but it still doesn't feel like the direction I'm searching for. No eureka! moment if you know what I mean. ;)

Anywho... I love the stamp, like the card, and I'm sure this crafty funk won't last forever.
Thanks for listening to me moan a bit, LOL... you guys are the best!

Hello, pumpkin

Howdy folks!

Well, I wasn't quite as productive yesterday as I had hoped. I didn't get much crafting done but I did manage to clean and re-arrange the living room which felt good. Still, I did get this card done using the little Pure Innocence sweetie that I started coloring up in the skin tone video I posted the other day. It was actually one of three short vids that can be seen here or on Color Me Copic. :)

This one turned out to be quite the leap from yesterday's dark and spooky card but this cutie just needed a bright and fun Halloween background. Especially since I altered her a bit by giving her a witch hat and adding a face to the jack o'lantern. Not only that but I was so proud of myself for pulling out the Cuttlebug and using one of my sadly neglected embossing folders. I even added some Stickles to the pattern 'cause I was feeling extra crafty, LOL! ;)

Well I'm hoping that today will prove to be a bit more productive 'cause I've got lots that I want to get done.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I'll chat at ya tomorrow. :)

Halloween Wishes

Good morning!

I'm enjoying a weekend off so I've been taking advantage of the free time and trying to finish up some cards using the images that I've been coloring for my Copic videos. The first one that I got onto a card was this sweet and slightly spooky little Gorjuss Girl that I altered into a wizard for Halloween. If you would like to see the 'warm grey' Copic video that I did with her you can check it out here or on the Color Me Copic blog.

This is one of those times when I went a bit crazy creating an entire scene using a mix of different stamps so when it came to creating the card I thought it best to keep things simple. A single sheet of pattern paper, some twine and a cool skully flower and that was all it needed. :)
To create the night sky, I masked the GG then just sponged some Distress Inks over top. I love how it turned out, though it is a bit matchy-matchy to her hair... hopefully she doesn't blend in too much.

Alrighty, well I'm going to go get a few more things done in the crafty room this morning. Hope your weekend is a blast! :)
