My card today features the adorable new Sunflower Lula from CC Designs. I think she looks like she is dressed in her Sunday best, taking the last of the season's sunflowers to her best friend. With the days getting shorter this time of year, who couldn't use a bit of sunshine in a vase to brighten up the home? :)
I paired Lula with the awesome new Apple Cheddar papers by Jillibean Soup. Growing up in apple country I'm kind of a sucker for cute apple motifs so I couldn't resist digging into this pad as soon as it arrived. It's amazing how smells can mark the seasons just as much as anything tangible because just like the smell of apple blossoms bring to mind a spring breeze there is a definite scent in the fall that is a bit harder to describe. It is part ripe apples and part diesel trucks and tractors bringing in the harvest. As crazy as this may sound it is one of my favorite smells... the only thing more fallish to me is probably a wood burning stove filled to the brim with sweet apple wood. Mmmmm... can I start pulling out my sweaters yet? ;)
