Finding the perfect tree

Good morning!

I hope you've been having a lovely weekend. My deadlines and commitments have all passed and I've got today off so I'm looking forward to a bit of relaxing. Jac helped me load all of my Christmas music CDs onto my ipod so now I've got continuous holiday tuneage to enjoy. :)

Ok, so my card today is for the Double Take Tuesday challenge over at The Greeting Farm and it has quite the story to go with it. See that super cute tree farm paper in the background? Well KI Memories sneak peeked it before last Christmas but unfortunately never released it as actual paper. To say I was bummed would be an understatement. If missing out on papers was ever to make me cry this would have been it... luckily I'm not quite that melodramatic. ;)
As soon as I laid eyes on it I had so many ideas that I wanted to use it for but I was convinced that they were never to be. Then I stumbled across the paper set being sold digitally at jessicasprague.com. Not being a digi scrapper at all I had never purchased digital papers and even though I loved them it still took months and months before I finally dove in and bought them. It didn't hurt that they are on sale now, LOL!

So I printed that tree farm out on cardstock and went to town playing along with the sketch challenge (though I flipped it on its side). Wild Sprout Logan was a great match for it because I think he looks ready for winter in his hoodie. I did do a bit of altering by wiping away his eyes before stamping and tracing in Wild Sprout Edward's eyes instead. I just seem to prefer my Sprouts with sweet expressions. And to finish off the story I gave Logan his very own wood veneer tree to take home from the lot. Yes, this one was a long time coming but I'm so satisfied right now it's not even funny. Well, maybe just a bit funny. :)

And with that admission of crafty nerdiness I will now exit stage left. Check ya later!

He's adorable Amy. I haven't tried digital paper either, it just seems like it would take a lot of ink. Must admit that background paper is awfully cute though.

Good morning my friend. You should be very happy with this card, It is just ADORABLE! I love your paper and oh wow do I wish they had put it out in a paper pad, I think it is fantastic. :O) I also love your little man with the tree. I think he picked the best one in the farm. lol. I can see that your Christmas music is truly inspiring you as always. I plugged in yesterday and spent my time listening to my Glee. Oh there are some songs in there that I can't keep quiet with and Madison gets very irritated with me. hehehe... Hope you have a great Sunday. Hugs, Lisa
