Strut your stuff

Happy Glee day friends! :)

Have you ever bought some pattern paper that is totally outside your normal style but something about it just speaks to you? Not necessarily in a way that tells you how the heck you will ever use it, it simply whispers, "I'm pretty, so very pretty... take me home with you."
Well, that has been the case with these papers. I bought them a couple years ago without any idea of what kind of project they would ever work for, so they have sat and waited patiently until I came across this week's Cupcake Challenge. As soon as I saw the bright colors and paisley/floral decorations on those cupcakes I was finally inspired to cut into this crazy/cool paper.
Now the task was to find a stamp that could hold it's own amidst that busy pattern... hmmmmm... ahhhh, I had just the gal and she hadn't even been inked up yet so it was a win/win! ;)
I loves me some Moulin Rouge! so when Kraftin Kimmie released the Moonlight Whispers dancing girls range I had to make them mine and miss Babette, with her fabulous flouncy bustle had just the right attitude for that paper. I didn't add too much else to the card because I didn't want to compete with everything that was already going on and I think it works!

Alrighty, time for me to go get ready for work. See ya tomorrow when we'll start previewing the new Roll Call Sprout set at CA&Friends! Supply list:

One card, two challenges

Hiya, how's it going this morning?

Things are good here... looks to be a beautiful day. :)

I've got a card that I made for a couple challenges today... first up is the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge to use eyelets. This was tougher than you would think for me. Sure I've got a small stash of eyelets from back in the day but I hardly ever use them. So it was a bit of a head scratcher to see how I could make them fit into my design. I think they work well enough but if I'm 100% honest I think it's a safe bet to say they won't be showing up on any other cards for awhile. ;)
I also altered this Moonlight Whispers Posy stamp just a bit by wiping away her winking eye and drawing in a new open eye. Totally easy peasy and I like how it gave her a whole new look. :)

I also used this week's gorgeous Cupcake Inspiration challenge as the inspiration for the black/white/aqua/green color combo (I couldn't resist adding some violet in there too) and for all the butterflies flitting about as well. I think these two challenges came together quite nicely on the card!

Well that's all I've got today so I'm gonna get ready for work. Have a good one! :) Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and PTI
paper- SEI (Bridgeport)
stamps- Kraftin' Kimmie (Moonlight Whispers Posy), Hero Arts (sentiment)

A berry sweet challenge...

Good morning!

What is that saying about March coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb? Well, I'm starting to think that it applies to my life right now more so than the weather, LOL! So much to do and only so many hours in the day but it's all good... I just need to tame this lion. ;)

As I've mentioned before, creating, making cards, drawing and the like, keeps me sane when things get crazy and I always try to make some time in my day for that. So when I got a chance to sit and relax for a bit I pulled my inspiration from this week's Cupcake Inspiration challenge which is all about the sweet, sweet strawberries and I knew the exact paper I wanted to use. :)
So I dug through my bag of pink paper scraps and found this perfect Doodlebug pattern and went from there. I pulled all my colors that I used to color in the Gorjuss Girl image from the paper and when I needed something for her to sit on I pulled out the coordinating Doodlebug sticker sheet and that gave me the 'Ah-Ha' moment of how to finish off the card. When I saw she was going to be small enough to sit on an overturned basket of berries you just know I had to add some wings... I mean, no brainer right? ;)

All in all this was quick and fun and a nice break from the routine of my day... hey, I can't ask for more than that. :)

Alrighty, I hope you all have a berry sweet day!
Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and PTI

Sew sweet

Hello out there!

Here we are at yet another Monday morning... the last one of the month if you can believe it.
In a couple of days I'll have some Club Anya sneak peeks to share but until then I've got this fun alteration using Cheeky Rockabilly and digi WS Odette's body. :)
This was a bit more involved than simply swapping heads as I wanted her to have both eyes open... so I wiped away her closed eye with a baby wipe, stamped Cheeky Shooter on a scratch piece of paper and used my lightbox to trace her eye onto Rockabilly's face. I also drew in the rest of her hair so it would look nice behind her new body. Now she reminds me of a fashionable costume designer from the golden age of cinema... right down to her little pearl earrings. ;)
For a closer look at how I alter stamps, just check out the links I've added in my sidebar to the tutorials I've done over at Club Anya.

My card is also totally inspired by this week's Cupcake Inspiration challenge... I just couldn't resist the fun sewing theme when I had this new Cosmo Cricket Material Girl paper to play with. :)

Oh and for those of you who asked how I colored the dirt on my gnome card yesterday it was really simple... I started with E55 making quick messy dots and dabs with the marker, then I did the same with E57... making the dots closer together in areas that I wanted to be shadowed (like under the pots and Mr Gnome, then I added dots and dabs of E59 in the same fashion. Once that was done I went over the entire area with smooth strokes of the E55 to blend. Hope this helps!

Ok, later gators! Supply list:
cardstock- Bazzill and PTI
paper- Cosmo Cricket (Material Girl)
stamp- The Greeting Farm (Cheeky Rockabilly)
digi stamp- The Greeting Farm (Wild Sprouts Odette)
ink- Memento tuxedo black, Colorbox dark brown chalk ink
buttons
ribbon
Martha Stewart around the edge punches
American Crafts alpha rub ons
Zva tiny pearls
Copic multiliner 0.1 pen

hair- E74, E77, E79

What a night!

Wow! How much fun was that Cheeky Valentine hop last night?!

I have to admit that it kept me up way too late, but it's all good... I've got today off so I could sleep in a bit. And now you know why I'm posting a bit later than usual too. ;)
Ah well, that's life... sometimes you need to be distracted by a Cheeky or two, or three! LOL

Ok, so I've got a quick one today and I pulled my chocolate strawberries color combo from this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge... Rachel always has the most delicious inspiration don't you think? :)
I also had fun with a bit of stamp altering... can you guess which Wild Sprouts I combined to make this sweet Valentine? Well the body is Megan's, gotta love that spunky hand on hip pose, and the head is Sassy Suzi's. I ended up giving her a bit of a hair cut to match her new spring time ensemble and I gotta say that I'm really diggin' her new flippy short 'do as a fun alternative look for her.
The rest of the card is pretty quick and easy, the whole little panel with the raccoon came straight from a sheet of BoBunny Love Bandit paper, which is just about the cutest Valentine's line of paper that I have ever seen!

Alrighty, thanks for stopping by and I hope you get some time to rest after the big hop last night too!
Catch ya later!

Thank you to everyone who played along this last week, it was a fantastic turn-out! How exciting it is to see Sweet November Stamps getting such a warm reception, and there is still time to get entered into the drawing for all four of these stamps over at the ATS blog... but you gotta hurry or you'll miss out!
Don't forget that all of these stamps will be available at All That Scraps beginning tomorrow. And if you thought this was fun be sure to keep checking back here for a special SNS Easter release and candy that will be here before you know it! ;)

Ok, now it's on to my card for the day. This is my last Sunday as a guest sweetie for the Cupcake Inspiration challenge and I've had so much fun playing along this month... thanks Rachel!
This week's inspiration had a very definite Valentine's vibe to it that I just couldn't resist and thanks to the wonderful miss Shirley and her fabulous blog candy that I won recently (thanks again Shirley!), I had the perfect stamp to use. Oh and see the big heart in between the two little sweeties? It is nice and blank, making it the perfect place to add a sentiment if you ask me... I love it! :)
So with the inspiration pic in hand and stamp chosen the rest of the card came together very quickly... the colors and glittered papers in my new K&Co KaZoo paper pad totally fit the bill and these Jolee's candy heart embellishments were just right for finishing the whole thing off. This is one of those cards where everything fell into place so perfectly that it just feels like all these different elements were always meant to be used together. I can't help it, that always brings out my inner stamping Cheerio... rah, rah, YEAH! heeheehee props to my fellow Gleeks who catch that reference... ;)

We would love to have you play along this week. Make sure to add a direct link to your NEW creation via the Mr Linky on Rachel's blog by Saturday Feb. 6th at 9pm MT. If you upload to a public gallery like SCS or PCP make sure to use keyword CIC44 so we can easily find you. Remember, no cupcake stamps are required! Rachel will post the Top 5 next Sunday!

And check out what the rest of the sweetie's have created this week:

Bleep, bloop, bleep. Translation...

time for another Cupcake Inspiration challenge!

Sorry I have to squeeze this post in between all the candy fun, but this week's CIC challenge is a total blast and deserved its own time to shine. :)
If you've been looking for some motivation to make that perfect boy card just check out the cool inspiration Rachel has found . Don'tcha just love that cutie robot? It was the perfect excuse to pull out this 'build-a-bot' stamp set that I've had for months yet had left totally unloved... tsk, tsk.
Once I put him together I thought he needed a friend and Space Ian was the perfect choice. They make quite the pair if I do say so myself! :)

Totally twitterpated

Goooood morning!

It's Sunday again and you know what that means... time for another fantastic Cupcake Inspired Challenge! :)
This week the colors of the inspiration photo totally set the tone for the type of card I created, especially when the My Mind's Eye Be Loved papers that Rachel sent were a perfect match. Well technically what I used are the backs or "B-sides" of the papers but that's why I love double sided paper... you get twice the options (and sometimes the B-sides are even cuter in my opinion...). ;)
Anywho... with the soft peaches and cream look I knew I wanted to do another Valentine's card and I also knew just who I wanted to bring back out of the retirement folder in time for the big day. Some of you may remember Miles and Maisy from my Sprout week back in September. I still love the idea of a 'couple' image so these two are strolling back on the scene for one more day in the spotlight. Awwwww, young love...
And of course I just had to add my 'go-to' embellishments... pearls and flowers into the mix. This time I had some yummy felt flowers (again from Rachel) as well as my trusty Primas. I even used the teeny tiny pearls again to add little earrings to Maisy... cuteness!

Oh, and I've gotten quite a few comments on how I add pearl and flower sprays. Now I don't know any real tricks to it but one thing I'm always mindful of is keeping whatever I'm using to an odd number. It's an old design trick that applies to multiple applications but holds true for card and page embellishing too. Our eyes just naturally find odd numbers more pleasing and more interesting to look at that even numbers of things. Strange but true. So the next time you are adding bits and baubles to your card remember, if four is good, five is better... sadly the same rule does not apply to cookies though... ;)

Alrighty, have a lovely day and be sure to check out what the rest of the sweeties have created:

~Colleen, ~Michelle, ~Rachel, ~Teresa

Delicious inspiration

Mmmmmm... good morning! I can't even begin to tell you how nice it's been to just veg for the first time in ages and I'm hoping to do more of the same today too. :)

And the best part of having nothin' to do is getting the time to play and go where ever the inspiration takes me, which was perfect timing since I had today's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge card to work on.
As soon as Rachel sent me the cupcake photo for today I was in love with the deliciously, rich color combo going on and I knew I wanted my card to have an image that was both cute (cause if you haven't guessed by now, I'm all about the cute) and kinda elegant as well.
Then she came to me... sitting right there on the edge of my imagination, and because I had the time I sat down and put her on paper. Ahhhh... perfect, exactly what I was wanting for this week's inspiration card. I think she looks like she could be Ginger Fairy's sister so I'm calling her Coriander Fairy... once I start with the whole spice theme I just gotta run with it (I'm OCD like that). ;)

The rest of the card came together super quick because I had the amazing goodie box that Rachel sent me for being her guest Sweetie this month. It was full of wonderful things like these new Basic Grey Origins papers, Diamond Stickles and beautiful ribbons amongst many other things that I'll be using on more CIC cards this month... thanks again Rachel! :)
And because I have used all this fun new stuff on the card it also fits the theme for this week's Flutter by Challenge as well!

So you all know the drill... we would love to have you play along this week! Make sure to add a direct link to your NEW creation via the Mr Linky on Rachel's blog by Saturday, Jan 16th at 9 pm MT. If you upload to a public gallery like SCS or PCP make sure to use keyword CIC41 so we can easily find you. Remember, no cupcake stamps are required and Rachel will post the Top 5 next Sunday!
And in the meantime be sure to check out what the rest of the gals have created this week too! :)

Lots of fun news and a winner!

Good Sunday morning to everyone!
I've got a lot to share in this post so I'm going to jump right in to it. So here we go...
First off, let's announce the lucky winner of the Chanter Heartsong candy since I know you've been waiting ever so patiently for that. :)
So I consulted good ol' random generator and the winner is....................

Congratulations Leah! Email me at pete_danger@hotmail.com with your mailing addy and I will get your goodies right off to you. :)

Thanks everyone for playing along and as always there will be more candy to celebrate February's Sweet November release at the end of the month!

Now onto more fun happenings... this past month I have enjoyed participating in the Hope Stamps Eternal Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and recently I was delighted when Rachel invited me to be their Guest Sweetie for the month of January! Every Sunday I will be posting my cupcake inspired card starting with today's. :)
So if you are looking for some challenge fun to get your creative juices flowing I highly recommend you check out the super cute pic Rachel has chosen for this week and join us... we would love to have you play along! Just make sure to add a direct link to your NEW creation via the Mr Linky on Rachel's blog by Saturday, Jan 9th at 9 pm MT. If you upload to a public gallery like SCS or PCP make sure to use keyword CIC40 so we can easily find you. Remember, no cupcake stamps are required! Rachel will post the Top 5 next Sunday!
And here's what all the Sweetie's have done today:

~Colleen ~Jessica ~Michelle ~Rachel ~Teresa

All this talk of guest dt spots leads me to my last big announcements of the day... recently Christine, the illustrator of CC Designs stamps and owner of All That Scraps, has decided to make Traci (wickedpixie) the first official designer for Sweet November Stamps! I am over-the-moon excited to have her working her magic with my stamps every month as she is an amazing talent and just the sweetest gal to boot! :)
This wonderful turn of events has opened up the opportunity for me to create a monthly guest designer spot for Sweet November... here are the deets:

Each month that Sweet November has a stamp release I will choose someone to send that entire release to and they will post cards and/or projects on their blog during sneek peak week. I will also have a little feature of them right here during that week as well. :)
How do you get a chance at playing along you ask? It's simple... show me what you've been creating with my stamps! I LOVE seeing how everyone is bringing the Fairy Sweets to life and I try to get around to see as many as I can but if I've missed something or you make something new, shoot me an email at sweetnovemberstamps@gmail.com with a link to your work.

In fact our very first Sweet November Gal has already graciously accepted the February spot and she is Amy Gould (Crafty Amy). Amy has been an enthusiastic supporter of Sweet November and has shown the Fairy Sweets a whole lot of love on her blog and I can't wait to see what she does with the new friends joining the SNS family next month! :)

Whew! See, I told you I had a lot to share today! If anyone has any questions about anything feel free to email me... I'm always happy to chat with my fellow stamparistas. :)

Hey girlfriend!

Good morning!

It's been snowing like crazy here the last few days but even though it definitely looks like a winter wonderland out there, all cold and white, I'm in the mood for COLOR! So when I saw the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #39 photo for this week it was the perfect fit for how I'm feeling. The mix of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with the pops of fun bright colors gave me the excuse I needed to ink up my new Mo Manning stamp that I got at ATS. Isn't it fun? I know Mo has a bunch of digi images but I'm a very happy girl if I can get an actual 'in-my-hands-won't-get-lost-when-the-computer-crashes' stamp. ;)
So the stamp may be new but I got to go WAY back in my stash for this 'old as the hills' but still much beloved KI Memories Birthday paper. The colors were just spot-on matches to the cupcake inspiration... gotta love it when that happens, it totally justifies hanging onto it for years. :)

Alrighty, so before I head off to work for the day just a reminder that the Chanter Heartsong candy is still going through tonight and I will announce a winner for it tomorrow. Oh and if you haven't been over to the ATS blog this week you'll want to head over for more chances to win Chanter and the other CC Designs stamps from the January release! And don't forget that the stamps go live Monday night at midnight EST... so exciting! :)

I'll be back tomorrow with some exciting news so stop by if you can. Later gators!

Christmas is for children...

but aren't we all children, Christmas day...

Happy Monday friends. This is a big week and I hope it is starting off well for everyone. :)
I'm on the run again but I do have time to share this card I made and guess what? I broke my record and got THREE challenges done with this one... yeah! I used the TGF sketch #3 from their 12 days of sketches challenge, the color scheme comes from this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge and because it's a Christmas card (no surprise there) it also works for this week's Anyone for Anya challenge... whew! :)

So you could probably tell I did a bit of altering on this one too. I used the little Anya head from the Spa set (the one in the bathtub) and had to wipe a bit of the bubbles away from her cheek and re-draw her jaw line but still a pretty simple repair. Then I combined it with little Alice Anya's body from the Signature set. Once I had her body all together I gave her some presents from the free Birthday Ian digi that I shrunk down to the same small size as the mini Anya. Add another mini Ian and some more presents and voila... instant Christmas morning happiness. :)
Can I just say that I am still really diggin' these mini Anyas and hope that we see more (including Ians) from TGF in the future... hint, hint, hint! ;) I'm so subtle... LOL!

Alrighty it's time for work, later dudes!

In the meadow we can build a snowman...

and pretend that he is parson Brown...

Ahhh Friday... oh how I look forward to this day all week long. It's my day off and I've got big plans so I'm just going to dive right into today's post. :)

I'm still on a roll with the whole combining challenges thing, even if I haven't broken my record of two... LOL, it's all good though. So my card combines this week's Diedrich Dare sketch challenge and this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. I loved the whole pink, aqua and brown color combo plus I just couldn't resist the chance to pull out these cutie snowmen stamps that have been a favorite of mine for a couple years now. Something about the sketchy way they are drawn totally reminds me of the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes (which I'm still totally bummed over its not being written anymore...sigh). But I digress... back to the card, when I saw Jack's sketch I immediately saw a whole stamped bottom panel rather than my usual cut-out image and it was fun to create an entire scene.
The end result is pretty clean and simple looking but I really dig it. ;)
Thanks for stopping by today, I'll chat with ya again manana.

Now I know what he likes for a late night snack...

for years now it's been bringin' him back... milk and cookies...

I know, I know... technically today's card features cupcakes, not cookies but these were the most closely related Christmas song lyrics that I could think of. ;)

So how is everyone this morning? Good I hope.
I'm gearing up for a busy day at work but before I head off I thought I would share this little card. A couple of days ago I came across the Cupcake Inspiration challenge #36 and fell in love with the idea of taking inspiration from a photo of cupcakes. I liked the freedom of how you could interpret different parts of it to make a card and I had every intention of being really loose with the theme because you don't actually have to use cupcake images. But then as I was falling asleep this little character popped into my head and I had to get her down on paper as soon as I woke up yesterday. Thus Red Velvet Cupcake Princess was born... so much for doing a loose interpretation because how could I not put her on a card? ;) Maybe the next go round I won't be so literal...
And you wanna know the best part of all this? I showed my sister this card and the inspiration picture and it inspired her to make some actual red velvet cupcakes (she loves to bake and decorate cakes). Now I hope she brings me some after work today... yum! :)

Ok, time for me to head off to work. I'll see you all tomorrow with the first of this month's Club Anya sneak peeks! Woohoo! :) Supply list:
